Sally Lindsay may work on Corrie for the rest of her life

Shelley Unwin could be pulling pints at the Rovers Return until she's pushing up daisies, if actress Sally Lindsay is to be believed.

Sally has been playing Shelley, the Rovers landlady, for four years now, and believes she may well be working on the Street for the rest of her life.

"I'll probably want to do something new at some point, but there's nothing wrong with staying in Corrie for the rest of your life."

Sally said that some of the perks of the job include the great pay, the fact she can live in Manchester, and the fact that she has become a "national icon".

I know national icons mainly have to start off back in the 80s or early 90s she hasn't been in it long enough. I'm not saying they can't make her a modern icon but it rarely works. Most memorable icons have built up their status over many years and have been on their show since the beginning or its early years.

of all corrie's characters i wish it wasnt her that was saying this. she has ruined the show recently and got very annoying to viewers, im sure. but fair play to her for sticking by a show that has found her fame, and she knows shes nothing without the show, if only some of the Eastenders cast realised this we wouldnt have these dramatic exits and returns, every five minutes.
