i have just been on my user cp and my edit signiture has gone! can someone help!
New rule to stop stacked bannars, you have to have 500 posts.

Im sorry but this is a stupid idea, I really miss my Gary Oldman banner and its going to take quite a few posts before I can get it back again.

Im sorry but this is a stupid idea, I really miss my Gary Oldman banner and its going to take quite a few posts before I can get it back again.
I do apologise, but the amount of new members flaunting the rules and having huge banners was making it a nightmare.
I'll be making an announcment shortly for those that can follow the rules and hopefully you'll have your banner back soon.

There's normally announcements, but in this instance there's a dedicated thread (http://www.soapboards.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=10071) for banners and signatures.

Im glad i have more than 500 posts, Gr should sort the banners out for people who have less than 500 posts amd obey the rules :)
I now have 500 posts but I do not yet have my signiture back. My name has not yet turned purple either. Why is this? Do you have to wait for a certain period of time?
it usually takes about an hour for it to turn purple

Your might need to put another signature in yourself again because it might not come back automatically

it don't take that long then, it weren't long ago i had my purple :D

I think the idea of not being able to have a signiture if you are under 500 is quite a good one. Its another insentive to post. It cuold be lowered a bit otherwise, maybe to 300?
i can see that people will put useless posts on to get their count up, so there is more spamming. maybe it should be lowered a bit??
Anyways GR said that we is oing to do an announcment ETC, so lets just see what that all says.

Wow, you got 500 plus posts in a month!
You have to have a clean reputation, and have to have been a member for at least 30 days. Maybe one of htem is your problem

Abi, what does the green bar of the right hand side of the screen mean?
So you have to wait 30 days for a signature and the shoutbox. Anyone got the time turner fron Harry Potter and the Prisnor of Askaban? lol.
yeah you have to be a member for 30 days to get shoutbox as well, although you only need 150 posts for that one. For a singiture and purple you need 500 posts, to be a member for 30 days and have a clean reputation
Do you remember the date when you joined us here? It was some time in July, so you should be able to get all that stuff within the next few weeks or so
I joined on the 14th of July so ive still got about another week to go before i get my purple, signature and the shoutbox.
At least you have a clean reputation, if you didn't you'd have to wait longer!

Continually break a lot of rules I would think, not that anyone would want a bad reputation on these boards.
Shouldn't the little green/red blobs increase as someone gets more reputation points (whether good or bad)?
:eek: 500! I've been here since March and only managed 60 odd! I think that figure may be a little harsh, as someone suggested, perhaps lower the number of posts needed to something more attainable?

500 is not that hard to get to, trust me :)
get involved in discussions. i only post on one dramam board and general and i got 500 in 20 days. if you watch more tv, then its very easy!
In 4 weeks, i've posted 1000 :D

The problem is with people ignoring the site rules. By the time you get to 500 posts, you should have a good idea of what banners are acceptable and what aren't
Well as a long standing veteran of this community I have to say I think this is a good rule to have. Whilst some don't break the rules with their signatures some do and it only takes a few to ruin it for everyone :)

Plus it means that there is something more appealing about getting to 500, rather then just a change in colour
