Veteran nominee Derek senses that this is his time to leave and he can think of no better man to be defeated by than Eugene.

The Tory claimed he felt no nerves about facing the public vote as he's "been up for the vote more regularly than most people pass wind".

And although he thanked the public for keeping him in so long, he felt he should've been given the boot long ago. "Certainly in time to have watched Wimbledon."

Derek thought that his boffin buddy would be victorious on Friday. "[He is] a very honourable man, a very funny man and a man with conviction. I think all those three things make him a better man than I am."

But the right-winger felt Eugene's success shouldn't stop there and hoped the engineer would win the jackpot. "He's considerably greater in honesty, integrity and honour... than anybody else that would be left in the final," decided Derek.

Forget the final, how about Eugene for Prime Minister, Derek?
