My favourite computer language has to be C++ I do know HTML but I find it too tedious to work with although I don't know if C++ can be used to create a website? I've only ever used HTML for stuff like that.

Forget c++. Its not for creating websites and the complexity level is very high

i find html easy to use rather than any other languages. i do know a bit of java scrpt though.

this is a code for scroll bars on webpages. hex codes are 6 code numbers used for colours:

<style type="text/css">
<!--body {
scrollbar-3dlight-color: HEX COLOUR CODE HERE;
scrollbar-arrow-color: HEX COLOUR CODE HERE;
scrollbar-base-color: HEX COLOUR CODE HERE;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color: HEX COLOUR CODE HERE;
scrollbar-face-color: HEX COLOUR CODE HERE;
scrollbar-highlight-color: HEX COLOUR CODE HERE;
scrollbar-shadow-color: HEX COLOUR CODE HERE;
scrollbar-track-color: HEX COLOUR CODE HERE;
}
-->
</style>

It's not very easy is it?

I also know Delphine or whatever it's called?

I can do a bit of javascript but at the end of the day it's my worst weak spot.

ok. we learn html in school, so thats why i know it and not any other language. you study others at college

I learned HTML in 2 month I'm confident on pretty much most of it but mainly the basics. I found it difficult at first, to be honest I don't do a lot of coding though I just pick up on these things when I'm bored. I use web tutorials and stuff.

use dreamweaver and frontpage sometimes if i want a particular effect that i cant do on my own

Treacle

If I'm messing with HTML I will use Frontpage. Dreamweaver is too complicated for me.

Tori

i dont like either of them, but they are good for if you are bored in it at school or at home etc. i like this kind of stuff though, like creating websites

I hate Dreamweaver though. It's got too many things that could go wrong :)

Tori

i dumped dreamweaver.. too complex!! i couldnt get it to do what i wanted it to, and i couldnt't put all the html on one webpage, you had to upload it. i dont like dreamweavers user interface though¬!!

It's too complicated. Frontpage is easier though.

Tori
31-07-2005, 19:29
yeah, i suppose, even though i only use it if i have to :)

Treacle

There's loads of other tools though, even free ones on the internet.

Tori
31-07-2005, 19:39
yeah. i got some codes off the internet to make my site (all made out of html- im rather chuffed!!) and the rest i knew. the front page is looking good but nothing else is done!!

I have a book on HTML somewhere. I got it from Ebay. It's really good and it gives you all the basics and then it gets more complex towards the end of the book.

Tori

i do on my shelves, but i dont use it much- its a help yourself quick fix guide, so it doesnt go into huge detail, but its all i need for now

I learnt Delphine or whatever it's called though and C++ using the internet and not books.

Tori

i've never heard of delphine, but then again i'm not into programming. the interent is proboably the best place to learn, especially interactively because they can correct your mistakes

Treacle

Yeah there's loads of tutorials that you can use to test codes out with.
