EastEnders signs up Only Fools and Horses star as Billy Mitchell love interest
Billy Mitchell's love life could soon be about to pick up, as EastEnders has cast an Only Fools and Horses legend to join the soap as a potential partner for Billy.
Switching The Nag's Head for The Queen Vic, Sue Holderness ? aka Marlene Boyce ? is set to join the BBC One soap as newcomer Estelle in the coming weeks.
Estelle will take a shine to Billy when she arrives in Walford for a photoshoot involving his and Honey's daughter, Janet. While Billy is happy to lap up the attention from Estelle, it soon transpires the other residents of Albert Square aren't quite as keen.
Opening up about her guest stint on EastEnders, Sue admitted that she was "absolutely delighted to have been given the chance to visit Walford".
"It felt very surreal to be popping into the actual fish and chip shop, Ruby's club, The Queen Vic, and wandering around the iconic Albert Square," she continued. "I was ridiculously excited about the whole thing!
"After more than 50 years in the business, it was my first time working on a soap and I loved the whole experience."
Will Estelle's trip to the East End be enough to take Billy's mind off of Honey and Jay Brown's blossoming relationship? We'll have to wait and see.
