Home and Away's Ari Parata will be confronted by his past this year as an old flame arrives in Summer Bay.

The show has revealed more details about new character Mia Anderson, who's played by Anna Samson.

Mia will be joining the Bay in the coming weeks and viewers will quickly learn that she has history with Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams).

Ari dated Mia years ago and their relationship was hit by tragedy when they lost a baby boy together.

Ari's struggle to deal with this situation led him down a self-destructive path, ultimately culminating in a prison sentence.

Mia arrives in the Bay with her grown-up daughter Chloe, who Ari also knows from the past.

Back in the day, Mia moved Chloe away for a fresh start following Ari's imprisonment, cutting her off from the man she'd previously treated like a father.

When Mia and Chloe are reunited with Ari again, how will things go and could their past affect Ari's current relationship with Mackenzie Booth?

The character of Chloe will be played by Sam Barrett, who was spotted filming scenes on location for Home and Away late last year.

Chloe is ultimately expected to become a love interest for Ryder Jackson (Lukas Radovich).

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and returns on Monday, February 1 at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).

Home and Away has revealed more official details and photos teasing the arrival of new characters Mia and Chloe Anderson.

The mother-daughter duo will be joining Summer Bay soon and look set to shake up life for the Parata family.

Anna Samson has been cast in the role of Mia, billed as an intelligent, gutsy and strong-willed mother-of-one.

Mia dated Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams) years ago, but their relationship was hit by tragedy when they lost a baby together.

Ari's grief manifested itself as self-destructive behaviour at the time, ultimately leading to a 10-year prison sentence.

Although Mia's little girl Chloe had been a daughter figure for Ari at the time, Mia decided it was best for them both to move away. This separated Chloe from the only father she'd ever known.

Show bosses have cast Sam Barrett in the role of Chloe, tipped as a "smart and sassy" new arrival who comes to the Bay at an important transitional moment in her life.

Chloe is just starting to figure out what her life as an adult should be like and she's ready to start exploring the world on her own. She has inherited her mum's intelligence and rebelliousness, so is sure to make her mark in the Bay.

In upcoming scenes, Chloe turns up in the Bay after running into her old friend Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) during his holiday in New Zealand.

Chloe travels back with Nikau as she wants to catch up with Ari and hopes they can find a glimmer of the father/daughter relationship they once enjoyed.

A couple of days later, Mia is next to appear in the Bay as she plans to take Chloe back home. This leads to her own reunion with Ari, who's currently in a relationship with Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir).

A Home and Away insider exclusively told Digital Spy: "Can they ever really heal old wounds and be a family again? And what will happen when Mia arrives to take Chloe home? When Mia and Ari reconnect after all these years, will their feelings for each other reignite?"

Home and Away will air Mia and Chloe's first scenes next week in Australia and in early March on Channel 5 in the UK.

I think she believes they would have stayed together. He was the great love of her life.

Growing up, did you watch the show?

I didn't, but my best friend did and has every piece of H&A information one could ever need, from storylines to cast trivia. She's my go-to for soap knowledge.

You played quite a scary character in Wake In Fright. Are you ready for fans to see you in a different light?

I am! Wake In Fright [the 2017 miniseries bases on the famed 1961 Australian novel] was an opportunity to work with a character far from myself both psychologically and physically.

It's exciting to show something a little closer to my own nature.

What do you do away from acting?

I read ? I'm a complete bookworm! My boyfriend bought me a Kindle recently. It's wonderful ? like having a library in my pocket, though I do still like to buy books. I find it romantic.

When Mia shows up at Salt to grab some beer for the thirsty folk at the barbecue, she unwittingly shares the details of the event with a surprised Mac.

Hang on, where's her invite to the Parata barbie? She's still Ari's girlfriend, isn't she?

At the barbecue, it's Ari's brother Tane (Ethan Browne) who questions him as to where Mac is. Even Mia is curious as to why she isn't there.

"Mia is hoping she won't get in the way of Ari's new life or relationship," Anna tells TV WEEK.

"She has no bad feelings towards Mac, despite it being a little strange for her."

Ari and Mia continue their conversation in private at the side of the house.

But what they don't know is that Mac, who has arrived at the barbecue to sort out things with Ari, catches the two former lovers sharing a private moment.

She decides to flee the scene before anyone notices she's there.

Home and Away has confirmed that Ari Parata and Mia Anderson's relationship will come under strain as they struggle to cope with the tragic loss of their unborn baby.

Mia (Anna Samson) was recently involved in a serious car accident alongside Dean Thompson (Patrick O'Connor) and Nikau Parata (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) and, although she survived the crash, she has sadly lost the baby that she was expecting with Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams), leaving both of them devastated.

TV Week reports that in scenes to air this week in Australia, Mia is discharged from hospital and says goodbye to Nikau, who is still in a coma following the accident. Ari offers to help Mia as they head home, but Mia acts coldly towards her partner in response.

When the pair arrive home, Mia notices that the ultrasound photo of their baby that had been on the fridge is missing. Angry Mia accuses Ari of trying to disregard their loss by removing the photo.

In response, Ari shows Mia a keepsake box that he has, which contains items belonging to their son, Kauri, who died shortly after he was born a number of years ago. He points out that the photo is now in this box and he tries to reach out to Mia, but she refuses to let him in.

Mia later shares her worries that Ari might want to try for another baby, revealing that she doesn't want to try again. Having suffered a number of baby losses with Ari over the years, she can't face going through another.

When Ari shows up at the gym later, Mia blurts out how she feels about the idea of trying for another baby. She tells Ari that if this is a deal-breaker for him, she will simply have to deal with it.

But does Ari want to try again? And if he does, does this mean that Mia will call time on their relationship?

Home and Away airs these scenes this week on Channel 7 in Australia and in September on Channel 5 in the UK.

"Mia doesn't like or trust Matthew," Anna explains. "She knew it was for the best that he wasn't part of her or her daughter's life."

Before he can leave, however, Matthew hears Irene (Lynne McGranger) call Chloe's name and, for the first time, he sees his daughter.

Thinking she's helping, Irene hands Matthew one of Chloe's cards with all her contact details and suddenly he's more determined than ever to meet.

But Mia has a card of her own to play: she declares she didn't give her consent the night Chloe was conceived. And if Matthew tries to come between her and her daughter, she'll make sure everyone knows the truth.

Home and Away's Chloe Anderson will soon confront her mother Mia Anderson in dramatic scenes, as Chloe learns the truth about her father's identity for the first time.

Australian fans recently saw newcomer Matthew (James Sweeny) show up in Summer Bay and it wasn't long before a horrified Mia (Anna Samson) came face to face with him. It was soon revealed that Matthew is Chloe (Sam Barrett)'s dad ? and that the reason why Mia has kept him out of their lives for so many years is because Matthew sexually assaulted her on the night of Chloe's conception.

Despite Mia warning Matthew to leave immediately, after he saw Chloe for the first time he decided that he wanted to stick around to introduce himself to his daughter.

TV Week reports that, in scenes to air this week in Australia and early next year in the UK, Matthew will spend days trying to find a way to speak to Chloe. When he eventually finds her alone in the Diner, he decides to seize his opportunity.

At first Chloe is nervous that stranger Matthew seems so intent on keeping her in the Diner, but when he drops the bombshell that the daughter he is visiting in the Bay is her, her concern turns to sheer confusion.

Chloe races home and immediately confronts her mum, demanding to know why Matthew would say such a thing.

Mia is forced to admit that Matthew really is Chloe's father, but explains that there are good reasons as to why she wanted to keep him out of their lives. She begs Chloe not to get involved with Matthew ? but whether Chloe will listen is another question.

Mia's partner, Ari Parata (Rob Kipa-Williams), is also desperate to keep his family safe and he confronts Matthew on the pier, demanding that he stay away from them or else ? although if the soap's latest trailer is anything to go by, Matthew won't be too impressed by Ari's threats.

Chloe, meanwhile, is torn and determined to find out the truth about the situation, so she agrees to meet up with Matthew again. When the pair meet, Matthew tells Chloe that she was the result of a single night that he spent with Mia. He asserts that when his parents offered Mia an abortion, she left alone.

As Chloe and Matthew bond, Mia finds them together and, once again, she begs Chloe to walk away from him. But with secrets apparently coming to light, Chloe feels that she doesn't know which parent she should be walking away from.

Tensions soon come to a head and things boil over when someone makes a shocking decision that could change everything. But what happens ? and how will Chloe deal with it?

Chloe orders him to get out of their lives for good and an argument ensues. Overhearing the commotion, Mia races out to find the pair in a violent scuffle.

In a rage, Matthew grabs Mia forcefully and accuses her of lying. It's time to put an end to her lies for good?

In recent episodes, Ari has been waiting out his sentencing hearing. Despite pleas from Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo), he refuses to reveal the truth. Chloe (Sam Barrett) killed her violent father in self-defense of her mother Mia (Anna Samson).

Now, Ari, who selflessly confessed to the crime, faces life in prison. Tane (Ethan Browne) has stepped up in his absence as the leader of the family.

"Ari can't stand the thought of Mia and Chloe going to prison for this tragic accident and in the end, can't figure out a way where it ends well for his love and his Stepdaughter," Rob explains.

"Ultimately, he decides to take the fall because he knows he can handle it."

At the hospital, time hasn't aided Ari's recovery. Instead his condition is getting worse. Logan fears his initial consult hasn't shown the full picture and runs more tests to find the cause of his pain.

Watching on, Mia begins to panic. Logan tries to reassure her everything is okay, but his face tells a different story.

Logan disappears to check on Ari's test results, leaving Mia to soak up time with her fianc?. Alone, Logan examines the scans and discovers something far more sinister than he anticipated.

What's going on?

Logan explains to Ari and Mia that further tests are needed to get answers, but Mia can sense he's holding back. Not wanting to waste any time, she suggests a wild idea to Chloe. She wants to marry Ari now before it's too late, before anything else can come between then.

The following day, Tane and Nikau arrive at the hospital with a suit for Ari. Bemused and confused, he dresses for a "family photo" - until Mia walks in. Dressed in a gorgeous lace wedding gown and holding a bouquet of flowers, she asks Ari to marry her today.

The proposal is moving and bittersweet in light of recent events. Dr Logan watches on nearby, conflicted between the emotive moment and Ari's grave health. But Ari has only eyes for Anna as he tearfully accepts her offer.

Will the lovebirds finally get their happy ever after? Or is there more heartache to come?

Home and Away has hinted that Chloe Anderson's behaviour is becoming a cause for concern after the recent death of Ari Parata.

Chloe (Sam Barrett) was left devastated last week as Ari passed away in hospital following a short illness.

Recent episodes have explored how Chloe isn't coping following this tragic loss of the main father figure in her life. However, with Ari's nephew Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) now trying to raise the alarm over this, the situation has taken a surprising turn.

In Thursday's episode on Channel 7 in Australia, Nikau tipped off his uncle Tane (Ethan Browne) that Chloe is struggling badly with her grief.

Tane promised to follow this up, but when he spoke to Chloe about it, she denied Nikau's claims and made out that she's doing well.

Chloe even went a step further by claiming that Nikau is the one who Tane should be worried about.

Turning the tables, Chloe suggested that Nikau isn't dealing with his uncle's death as well as he's making out. She even lied that she'd seen Nikau wearing one of Ari's shirts in a particularly vulnerable moment.

Tane wasn't sure who to believe, especially when Nikau denied wearing the shirt.

Later, when Nikau confronted Chloe over her strange claims, she played it down: "My mistake. I'm sorry. It was something that I said in passing. I think Tane's making it a bigger deal than it is.

"Maybe it's him taking this 'head of house' thing seriously."

Nikau was still unsettled over some of Chloe's behaviour, especially when she gatecrashed a cosy date for him and Bella Nixon (Courtney Miller) at the Astonis' farmhouse.

Chloe made out that she had no choice but to seek them out, lying that Tane and his girlfriend Felicity Newman (Jacqui Purvis) had made her feel unwelcome at the Parata house.

Chloe's surprising behaviour comes as she seems to be leaning solely on Bella for support.

Could she be trying to play everyone else off against each other as part of her mission to get closer to Bella?

Home and Away fans in the UK will see these scenes on Channel 5 in April.

Home and Away has confirmed that Chloe Anderson is trying to drive a wedge between Nikau Parata and Bella Nixon in a new storyline.

Chloe (Sam Barrett) has been struggling with her grief since her mum's fianc? Ari Parata tragically died earlier this month.

Last week, viewers spotted some early signs that Chloe was growing overly attached to Bella (Courtney Miller) as a means of coping with the upsetting situation.

Monday's episode on Channel 7 in Australia has now confirmed this to be true, as viewers were given an insight into Chloe's troubled state of mind.

When Chloe gatecrashed a romantic meal for Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) and Bella at the Astonis' farmhouse, Nikau was initially annoyed by the interruption.

Realising that a fragile Chloe needed Bella's support more than him, Nikau eventually took a step back and left them alone to enjoy a movie marathon together.

The next morning, Chloe wrote in her new diary about her plans: "So this is a new beginning. Time to look forward and focus on the positives.

"That's good advice, right? It's what Bella told me, and she's the only one that I trust.

"I just wish that Nik would stop being so painful. I thought that bawling my eyes out in the bathroom would get rid of him, but no."

Chloe then secretly took pictures of a sleeping Bella, only narrowly avoiding being caught out by Nikau.

Later, Nikau confided in his uncle Tane (Ethan Browne) about how he's suspicious over Chloe's current motives.

He explained: "It feels like Chloe's deliberately coming between me and Bella. She's everywhere I look and Bella's always taking her side."

However, Nikau soon backed down as he conceded that his theory sounded "crazy" and he needed to give Chloe the benefit of the doubt.

Is a struggling Chloe only just getting started with her mission?

Home and Away's Chloe Anderson has risked alienating her friend Bella Nixon in sad new scenes.

A new storyline on air in Australia has seen Chloe become worryingly fixated on Bella as she struggles to cope with the tragic death of Ari Parata.

Still grieving following the loss of the main father figure in her life, Chloe has focused all of her energy on staying close to Bella.

This has included trying to drive a wedge between Bella and her boyfriend Nikau Parata. Chloe sees Nikau as a rival for Bella's attention and wants him out of the picture.

In Monday's episode on Channel 7, Chloe's behaviour finally started to have the opposite effect as she began to test Bella's patience.

Bella became visibly irritated as Chloe insisted on spending every second with her. As Bella tried to work on an important photography assignment, she couldn't get a moment alone as Chloe repeatedly tried to help her.

Chloe, who has been living with Bella, Dean and Ziggy at the Astonis' farmhouse in recent days, also refused to go back home. She claimed that she couldn't cope with being around her struggling mum Mia.

Events came to a head when Bella woke up to find Chloe cooking breakfast for her.

Chloe also revealed that she'd taken the liberty of writing up an important part of Bella's assignment for her, wanting to keep "helping".

Bella finally snapped in response, warning Chloe to move back home and give her space.

Later, an upset Chloe returned to the Parata house and poured her heart out in a new diary entry.

She wrote: "Bella doesn't want me around anymore. So I'm home and I hate it.

"I really thought Bella understood what I was going through, but I guess I was wrong."

Later this week, Chloe will confront Bella for prioritising spending time with Nikau over her.

Chloe then comes under suspicion when Nikau's Taiaha ? which belonged to his late father ? mysteriously goes missing.

When Chloe arrives to work on her day off, Marilyn (Emily Symons) offers some advice: be clear about what you want.

Chloe rages on, but takes note of Marilyn's words. Can she really live without her mother by her side?

"Chloe doesn't feel a sense of comfort anymore," Sam says. "She's guarded. Both of them are so devastated."

At the gym, Tane tries to sweat out his annoyance with Mia. When she arrives for work, he tries to convince her to stay, but she's not happy here.

Tane fires up ? how could she give up on them? Dean (Patrick O'Connor) jumps in to defend Mia, the two men almost coming to blows.

When Mia arrives home, Chloe dives into her prepared speech. She wants to stay in the Bay. Mother and daughter are at an impasse: they need different things, but also need each other more than ever. Will they stay or go?

Emotions are running high in the Parata household when Mia makes the heartbreaking decision to leave town.

Home and Away's Chloe Anderson has faced a new setback after bonding with Theo Poulos.

Recent episodes in Australia have teased a possible romantic future for the pair, who have been drawn together at difficult times in their lives.

Chloe turned to Theo for support after the death of her stepfather Ari Parata. She also felt isolated as she had faced a backlash from Nikau Parata and Bella Nixon over her erratic behaviour while grieving.

Theo has also faced a traumatic few weeks after the arrival of his abusive father Dimitri in the Bay. This led to the truth emerging over Dimitri's violence and the villain finally being charged by the police.

Last week, Theo featured in a heartwarming scene with Chloe as he sang to her during a romantic moment on the beach. The episode helped to show off the real-life singing talents of Matt Evans, who plays Theo.

However, in Thursday's triple bill of episodes in Australia (May 19), things started to turn sour.

Chloe's life appeared to be looking up when Nikau finally agreed to forgive her for trying to drive a wedge between him and Bella. Nikau realised that life was too short after his uncle Tane was stabbed at Salt.

Elsewhere in Summer Bay, Theo feared that Chloe had turned cold on their potential relationship by putting him in the friend zone.

Theo confided in Justin Morgan and John Palmer over how best to respond, receiving some conflicting advice.

His dilemma only increased further when Chloe invited him out to Salt, stressing that it was for some "friendly" drinks.

Fearing this was another example of Chloe friend-zoning him, Theo decided to prove a point by inviting another girl along to their drinks.

Chloe was visibly rattled as Theo arrived with Becky, a girl he knows from his Technical and Further Education (TAFE) course.

Chloe tried her best to welcome Becky, but ultimately grew fed up with playing third wheel and left early, making it clear that she wasn't happy with Theo.

As any diehard Summer Bay fan knows, the cast of Home and Away are like family to each other.

So when a cast member leaves the show, it calls for a big send-off and gushing tributes.

On Thursday night, the H&A cast farewelled Sam Barrett, who's played Chloe Anderson since early 2021.

Matt Evans, who plays fan-favourite Theo Poulos, took to Instagram to share several behind-the-scenes snaps of himself and Sam.

"Bye for now Sammy 🌟 missing your quirkiness and good heart at the bay. was such a pleasure to work with you 💛," Matt captioned his sweet tribute.

Ethan Browne, who portrays Tane Parata on the beloved soap, also shared a snap of himself, Kawakawa Fox Reo and Sam.

"And like that we say ka kite and farewell to the niece," Ethan affectionately wrote.

Home and Away's former associate producer Brodie Macpherson also praised Sam for her 18-month stint on the show.

Brodie shared a photo she took on Sam's very first day of filming alongside a snap from her last day on set.

"Proud of you. Proud of your work. Proud to be your friend," she penned.

Sam's final scenes aired on Thursday night, with her character Chloe saying goodbye to Summer Bay to be with her mum in New Zealand.

The 22-year-old landed the gig playing Mia's daughter in February last year after previously auditioning for four other Home and Away roles.

"My first day on set didn't even feel real, it felt a bit like a dream," she told Perth Now.

"I learn a lot every day from everyone and from the crew as well. That's my favourite part about working on the show. Everyone's always willing to help you as a new actor."

Sam's departure comes after a slew of other core Home and Away stars left earlier this year, including Sam Frost, Harley Bonner, Lukas Radovich and Rob Kipa-Williams.
