Katy is nervous as she accompanies Mick on a visit to the care home where he grew up, worried about what he might remember. Although the property is now closed and boarded up, Mick insists on still going inside.

As old memories return for Mick, Katy explains that his past trauma all revolved around Shirley abandoning him. Mick isn't convinced, believing that something else was going on.

Meanwhile, Max finds Linda in the playground, contemplating having a drink after more difficult moments with Mick. Max takes Linda to the restaurant and shows his support, which leads to them sharing another kiss. Ian watches this moment from afar.

Elsewhere, Jack wants Max to move out so that Amy can have her own room. Max has nowhere to go, so threatens to kick Sharon out of the pub if Ian doesn't give back his money soon.

Also today, Whitney is horrified when Ian lets slip about Tiffany's surrogacy arrangement, Ian is too busy to help Bobby with the Lucy Beale Award, while Suki continues to plot against Ian.

Ian threatens Max, vowing to tell everyone about his kiss with Linda unless he backs off. Max is not impressed and begins to plan his revenge. Ian reassures Sharon that the Max situation has been sorted out, but he's clearly speaking too soon as Max later reappears to take his revenge.

Max warns Ian again to give his money back, or he'll finally put him out of his misery. Later, Ian gets another idea to fix his problems when he watches Sharon do the banking.

Meanwhile, Tina finds Mick in a downbeat mood after his visit to the care home, but she assumes that he's still struggling after losing the Queen Vic. Tina begins plotting to get Ian out of the pub for good so that Mick can reclaim his position.

Elsewhere, Whitney warns Tiffany that her surrogacy plan will end in tears. Jack also informs Tiffany and Keegan that paying a surrogate is illegal.

Also today, Thompson puts Callum under review as punishment for the 999 call coming to nothing.

The day of the Lucy Beale Award ceremony has arrived. As Bobby is still unsure about who to give it to, Ian gets involved by telling him that he knows who Lucy would have picked.

Linda decides not to go to the ceremony and gives Mick some home truths over the way he has treated her recently. However, she later changes her mind and goes with Max instead.

In the build-up to the ceremony, Tina tells Shirley about her surprising move. Tina and Shirley both head to the pub, hoping that they'll witness Ian's downfall at the event.

Later, the winner of the award is revealed and Ian leaves Max flabbergasted when he reveals what he has done. Has Ian had the last laugh?

Meanwhile, Ben is determined to find out who grassed on the Mitchells, as nobody wants to work with the family anymore after what happened.

Elsewhere, Sharon's lawyers are causing problems for Phil.

Ian is triumphant after outsmarting Max, who now wants revenge against him again. Ben also has an axe to grind with Ian, but everyone is surprised when the police arrive to arrest Ian.

Kathy is determined to help Ian, but she's stopped in her tracks when he blames her for his arrest. It seems that Ian has finally pushed Kathy too far, as she gives him some home truths over his recent behaviour.

Peter has also had enough of Ian, telling Bobby that they'll never be happy until their dad has gone. Bobby is finally starting to see the truth in Peter's words.

Meanwhile, Rainie and Stuart are annoyed over Ian putting doubts in Tiffany's mind about the surrogacy. When Ian makes a harsh comment, Rainie gets upset and Stuart considers revenge.

The Ian-related developments are also a hot topic of conversation among the Carters, as Tina tells Mick that he can get the pub back now. Mick is annoyed and tells Tina that she clearly doesn't understand what he's going through. Upset over the row, Tina heads into the direction of The Vic.

Before the evening is over, Ian is lying motionless on the floor of the Queen Vic. Who has attacked him?
