These are a couple of articles also from TV Week:
"Dipi is still enamoured with Pierce, despite bring married to Shane, and goes as far as to suggest they start a proper relationship together. Dipi has seen Pierce as the man she should have married and is drawn into a fantasy where she imagined her life with him.
Chloe is shattered by what Pierce has done so when he announces he's going to leave town, she's not sure how she feels. Pierce sees no option but to quit Ramsay Street but Chloe thinks not having him constantly around might be better for her.
Dipi and Pierce created this huge mess but now he leaves her alone to deal with it and runs away to forget it all."
And:
"Aaron and David have been on an unsuccessful journey to start a family but in the heat of the moment Nicolette suggests she could have their baby for them.
The more she ponders the idea, the more it makes sense. She feels this could be her only chance to have a makeshift family, but with none of the late nights or mess.
After a few vinos, she tells the boys the timing couldn't be more perfect, as she is ovulating. Surely two medically trained professionals could find something suitable to inseminate her with.
The idea seems great until she explains it to her mother, Jane, who urges her to reconsider becoming a surrogate."

No it was Hendricks. Shane's son stole the drugs from Richie and gave Hendricks who spiked his dad's tea! What a storyline...they really need fresh minds at work.

never thought Hendrix
I?m not sure what?s going on with the writing.... the scripts are beyond ridiculous now. No character has had any growth. It?s just been one train wreck after another. Hate all of it. Seriously think fans of Neighbours could do a better job with the scripts. Anyone else feeling the pain???

Honestly think COVID was a big part of it. No touching or kissing allowed so the opposite of that is relationship/family drama and break ups. It?s kinda annoying because there?s so many moments where it needed a hug between friends/family. I?m not going to complain though because even through the restrictions they are committed to keep filming and pump out new episodes. Let?s hope next year is back to normal!
Definitely hoping the new year sees better scripts!
dipi constantly showing her boobs, off dress for pierce, no shame but always flawless makeup
Never liked Dipi, totally can?t stand her! Biggest hypocrite on the show! Yashvi has also been very disappointing! They threw Pierce under the bus with this storyline.

I'm quite surprised at how few shouting/screaming matches there have been in the street. Thought it would have been perfect to film a public meltdown.
Also a bit disappointed in Yashvi siding with her Mum - first because 'no one else is supporting her' or something, which is fine, but it looks as if she's going to take sides against Shane. Sure the addiction caused friction, but that's not the same as having an affair with your neighbour's husband.

Yeah Yashvi supporting her mother who had the affair and not Shane is pretty ordinary. Some poor writing there. Seems to me a few characters have been thrown under the bus to justify the reasons for Pierce leaving. Pierce Dipi and Chloe who is even more stupid and annoying then usual

They would not have been allowed to film public meltdowns or screaming matches, due to COVID and possible transmission of COVID particles through the air. Singing and choirs were banned for this reason.
In terms of other complaints here about the writing, try and remember that a lot of scripts had to be rewritten in a hurry to accommodate the restrictions in Australia, in different locations, rather than their usual offices at Nunawading. Scripts were bound to suffer a little, but it is just a show at the end of the day. They were also coping with a very severe lockdown in Melbourne for the past few months. A lot of what they would usually do they've had to work around or abandon completely. Everyone is still adjusting. Neighbours 2020 is not like Neighbours 2019 and likely won't be for some time to come.

hmm.
In the promos for future episodes they have a physical altercation between Shane and Pierce, so if they are able to have actual physical contact then they could have filmed scenes outside in the street at a greater distance - even if it meant doing the same thing they have very obviously been doing and having people further away than they usually would be, including on-screen couples. Even if it meant filming one side, filming the other side and editing it together into a back and forth.
Edit: I should have added yesterday that obviously it's a real residential street so being outside while the homeowners are in their houses is probably not going to happen...
As it is, the whole thing feels rather tame and could have been more dramatic. Even with the restrictions.
The scene when Chloe entered the hotel room and saw them together was less of a shock horror revelation and more as if she knew and this was confirmation.
Definitely seems rushed and more like the best exit for Pierce would have been after the miscarriage and his ex-partner giving birth, rather than this storyline. It's not been the dramatic scandal they'd have hoped for, I think.
The show is showing a lot of boobs overall. Both Dipi?s and Therese?s boobs almost fall out of their dresses. And then the men who go out running half naked....but perhaps that is normal in Australia. 🤔

Today (Friday) was a close call for Dipi! Nearly a spillage outside of the cafe as Shane seethed in the background. Would have boosted the ratings...
