Has anyone had any experience with Tooth Capping??
My eldest is 11 1/2 and about 3 or 4 years ago knocked half of both front teeth out and shoved them back into his gums (yes very painful!)
He had them filled slightly because the dentine was exposed and they initially said that once the teeth had come back down out of his gums, they would do something more permanent. Well, the teeth are fully out again, but they are now refusing to do anything until he is 16!
I am taking him for a second opinion at a private dentists (which luckily isn't being paid for by me!!) this morning, but does anyone know if this is literally a case of the dentist wanting to wait till you have to pay for treatment (in order to get £100's ) or is there an actual medical reason for it....I have tried searching on the net, but there is no mention of any age limit for capping etc, and I am very concerned that as his current dentist has decided to not cover the tooth for 2 weeks (!) it may start to decay!
Any ideas??
