Geoff fears he’s losing his grip on Yasmeen in Coronation Street, and makes his next bold move as he plots to speak to his wife in prison. But how is he planning to regain the upper hand?
His decision comes after a showdown with Sally, who has always had her suspicions about Geoff’s appalling treatment of Yasmeen. Sally decides to visit Geoff’s wife in prison to hear her side of the story. Sally only needs to take one look at the broken woman to know that she is telling the truth. However, her worst fears are later confirmed beyond any shred of doubt, after Geoff loses his rag with her…

In the lead-up to their showdown, Sally learns from Cathy that Geoff once locked Yasmeen is his magician’s box for hours. The revelation rings more alarm bells for Sally, who still can’t get over Geoff hiring escorts while married to Yasmeen.

So, as doubts swirl in Sally’s head – and Alya begs her to stand in court as a witness for her gran’s defence – she visits Yasmeen in prison in the hope of gauging the truth for herself.

It’s an emotional meeting, and Sally can’t believe what she’s hearing as Yasmeen opens up to her. Sally is so appalled that she can’t resist telling Geoff about what she’s heard after arriving back on the Street, and gives him a piece of her mind.

Unable to contain his fury over Sally’s interference – not to mention the idea that his hold over Yasmeen is waning – Geoff snaps, just as Tim walks through the door to find his dad raging, and Sally looking terrified.

Tim is shocked to learn Sally has been to see Yasmeen, but can Sally convince him that Geoff is the true villain of the piece? Meanwhile, Geoff decides to take matters into his own hands in a bid to regain his power – and applies for a visiting order to confront his wife.

Getting to Yasmeen isn’t as easy as Geoff hopes, though, so he defiantly returns to work at Speed Daal and makes Alya’s life a misery instead. However, when Geoff overhears Imran telling Alya to expect a call from Yasmeen that afternoon, Geoff sneakily steals Alya’s phone and intercepts the call.

I do not know if the prison services giving visiting orders have the power to refuse one even if the prisoner agrees....

I don't know the rules on this, but it wouldn't be up to the police or the prison authorities. I would think it is either the legal position that a victim cannot visit the alleged perpetrator or the court would have to give a ruling as part of the conditions of remand.

Yasmeen was told she could not see Geoff if she had got bail. At least part of the reason she didn't get it.

Steve has had Oliver for the night, but a distraught Leanne heads to Number 1 at the crack of dawn, still in her pyjamas. Worried, Nick follows and steers her home.

Dr Gaddass says Leanne should consider counselling or medication. Furious, Leanne refuses. When Toyah calls round to offer support, Leanne turns on her, insisting she has no idea how she's feeling.

Meanwhile, Sally is appalled to learn from Cathy how Geoff locked Yasmeen in his magic box, leaving her there for ages. When Alya asks her to be a witness for the defence, she decides to go and visit Yasmeen. Shocked at what she hears, she can't help but reveal her visit to Geoff. Tim is shocked when he walks in to find his dad furious and Sally looking terrified. Has Geoff revealed his true colours?

Elsewhere, when Roy finds out that Evelyn and Arthur are off for a walk along the Rochdale canal, he invites himself along.

Also today, when Michael reveals that he has got a date with Grace at the Bistro later, Aggie warns him not to get involved, reminding him how it ended last time.

Finally, Johnny phones from France but Jenny refuses to take his call, leaving Carla feeling awkward.

Nick suggests they should maybe go to a support group for parents of terminally ill children. How will Leanne react?

Elsewhere, Roy apologises for upsetting Evelyn. Realising that Evelyn feels too old for romance, Roy assures her that age is no barrier. Persuaded, Evelyn phones Arthur and makes another date.

Also today, Ed tells Aggie that it's understandable Michael wants to be a full time Dad and they should support him, not stand in his way. Over dinner, Michael suggests they should give their relationship another go.

Tim and Sally are still at loggerheads over Sally's support of Yasmeen, but Tim is shocked when Sally tells him that Geoff tried to visit Yasmeen.

Geoff returns to work at Speed Daal, much to Alya's dismay. When Imran calls, Geoff overhears Alya say she is expecting a call from Yasmeen at 3.30pm.

Geoff steals Alya's phone and when Yasmeen calls, she is horrified to hear Geoff's voice at the end of the line.

Meanwhile, Leanne apologises to Toyah for the awful things she said. Toyah forgives her. Toyah asks her friend Josie to come to see Leanne's flat and explains that Josie runs the support group for parents with terminally ill children. As Josie tells her own story, Leanne takes comfort from her experience.

Elsewhere, when Kevin gets a call out for a breakdown, Abi recognises the name as the twins' adoptive dad and says she is too busy to go. Kevin is surprised by what he finds out.

Also today, Michael bitterly tells Aggie that she has got what she wanted, Grace gave him the brush off and doesn't want to see him again.

Finally, Laura calls at the furniture shop and tells Gary that Rick has got 24 hours to give her some more money or she's going to the police.
