Derek has racked up some surprise man points by shattering one of House's most coveted records - that of underwater breath-holding.
He dazzled an awestruck Eugene with an oxygen-defying stint of over two minutes under water as the pair timed each other in the pool.
Eugene set the bar with a personal best of 1:37, which he seemed very proud of as he advised Derek on various breath-holding tactics. "I keep my head below my lungs," he beamed.
Clearly spurred on by Eugene's boasting, Derek decided to set the record straight.
Time me," he demanded, and slipped calmly beneath the surface.
Eugene watched on powerlessly as his own PB was made to look mediocre.
"Two minutes!" he roared triumphantly, perhaps expecting this impressive landmark to tempt the Tory above water. But Derek's enormous lungs kept on going. When he eventually emerged, he was unaware of his feat.
"Guess how long you were under," prompted Eugene importantly.
The impressive time of 2:12 delighted the Tory, especially when he realised he had beaten Anthony's record by a whole 10 seconds. The competitive Geordie will doubtlessly be keen to reassert his underwater dominance.
But with a score like that to beat, don't hold your breath...
