I know this sounds gross, but I suffer really badly from ulcers on the back of my throat and have done ever since I had my tonsils out when I was 7!!

I salt water gargle, medicated mouthwash gargle etc to no avail. I had heard that it was possibly a Vitamin B deficiency but not sure if this is correct or not....does anyone have any ideas on what might help soothe it??

Have you tried gargling with soluable aspirin? As you are pregnant, you can not swallow it, but it will help the swelling in the back of the throat.

What about speaking to your GP?

I don't tend to keep aspirin in the house unfortunately....just paracetamols and ibuprofen. May try and get some later though and see what the chemist says. All my GP has previously said is that I am a throat problem carrier/person, which makes me susceptible to these types of things. Plus, he said its not actually bacterial therefore antibiotics won't be of any help.

The funniest thing is that the problem has got worse since I gave up smoking!!! Still I know which I would rather (I think!)

I don't know much and I don't mean to scare you or anythign if I do, but maybe its an infection from removing your tonsils :searchme:

The tonsils are there to fight infection, so Spicy maybe right

Mine only crop up about once a month and go after a week of salt water gargling so I can just about put up with it!!

I had my tonsils out 22 yrs ago, and didn't start getting the ulcers till about 5 years ago, so I am thinking it might just be coincidence, as I would have thought I would have suffered from throat probs without having a 17 yr gap? :searchme:
