Isn;t it intersting how few births there are compared to deaths!?

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 12:14
its a bit out dated- i suppose alesha could be counted and dens (2nd )death???

Abi
23-07-2005, 12:18
yeah

I wonder how many of them marriages ended in murder or divorce!

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 12:20
there are loads of car accident's too

jack dalton is not on either- that was murder too

Abi
23-07-2005, 12:22
Jack Dalton?

Oh yeah i remember. That was about a year or so ago, so its quite a bit old

Facts and figures about the show

EastEnders was first shown on 19 February 1985

For the first eight years it was shown twice weekly but from 11 April 1994 it went to three episodes per week. On 6 August 2001, a fourth episode was added to the weekly schedule.

The standard yearly output is 208 episodes

Then, of course, theres omnibus edition on Sundays. There are often additional episodes filmed throughout the year, increasing the figure to between 210 and 215 episodes.

Who watches EastEnders?

The current average audience for EastEnders is around 14 million viewers per weekday programme, which is equal to roughly a 60% share of TV viewing.

Recent research shows that 22% of the EastEnders audience is under 24

34% are in the 25-45 age group. Over-65s make up just 18% of the audience.

One-third of the EastEnders viewers are men

Women form the majority at 55%, while 12% of the audience are children. 41% of viewers are classed as belonging to the ABC1 social groups.

Abi
23-07-2005, 12:27
Whats the ABC1 Socal groups?

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 12:28
no idea- i think it refers to class/social groupings

Abi
23-07-2005, 12:29
I guess so

Do you reckon the average audience is still 14 million?

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 12:33
no!!! i think that was back in the day (wayyy back)

Abi
23-07-2005, 12:34
yeah, I'd guess about 10-11 million now, although its decreasing all the time. they've had so many really low episodes that that has brought the average right down

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 12:39
it has been tripe recently

Abi
23-07-2005, 12:40
Its gone way down, they really need to do something, Emmerdale has been getting better so they're in danger of being trampled on in the ratings yet again

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 12:44
i dont think the return of the mitchells is going to make that much difference

Abi
23-07-2005, 12:45
It might go up for a few weeks, but in the long run one family isn't going to make a difference. The whole soap needs to be re-thought and re-vamped

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 12:46
totally agree

Abi
23-07-2005, 12:54
The whole "its summer, soaps always do bad in summer" really annoys me! All soaps suffer in the summer, just none as much as Eastenders. When will people realise...?

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 12:58
i'm pleased nigel harman is back- much more watchable!!

Abi
23-07-2005, 13:01
at least its bareable now cause of him!

but the stories are a load o rubbish most the time

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 13:04
they are, i cant wait til chrissie leaves- i must be the only one on here who cant bear here, she is becoming a pantomime witch

Abi
23-07-2005, 13:05
Chrissie is ok, but needs to have a few happy stories once in a while. Her life is way too depressing to be realistic. Every one smiles once in a while!

parkerman

its a bit out dated- i suppose alesha could be counted and dens (2nd )death???

And Freddie's birth

callummc
23-07-2005, 14:00
no rach your not the only one,i've never liked her,she just reminds me of a cheep imitation angie

Bad Wolf
23-07-2005, 14:01
thank god!!! she is terrible, although i'm liking dennis snipe at her rubbish mate

Dr. Tangliss
23-07-2005, 17:05
Yeah, me too, she is such a witch!

Chris_2k11
23-07-2005, 18:46
Laura, Barry, David, and Paul's death isn't on that list either!

Abi
23-07-2005, 19:22
Nor is Andy

Abi
23-07-2005, 19:23
and didn't Lynne and Garry have a baby together which died?

hayzie
23-07-2005, 21:30
out of all the weddings that happened in the square, jim and dot are the only couple that have stayed together! i think :hmm:

Abi
23-07-2005, 21:42
hmmm, yeah i guess they are

Kim
24-07-2005, 11:24
and didn't Lynne and Garry have a baby together which died?
Yes they did, It was last year, in june i think. They were going to call her Vivienne but she died after Lynne's placental abruption due to the fair disaster. Lynne had to have an emergency hysterectomy after this, and so left Garry, and Walford.

Abi
24-07-2005, 13:24
So technically Vivienne should be under birth and death shouldn't she?

Treacle
28-07-2005, 22:07
The stairs in the tube station lead into the male toilets where Kat and Zoe had their chat...

Treacle
28-07-2005, 22:08
And some of those facts are wrong. No it doesn't get 14 million anymore, that was way back in 2001, no soap gets 14 million anymore due to more people having more channels to watch.

Kim
29-07-2005, 10:24
So technically Vivienne should be under birth and death shouldn't she?
Yes she should.
