Eugene has been 'entertaining' his buddies in the pool with a series of breathless stories. Only the audience didn't seem too appreciative.
Craig, Derek and Anthony bobbed up and down in the water patiently, with Derek going, "Mm. Mm. Mm," trying to hurry Eugene along to the distant end of his tales.
"Sometimes I've washed my hands after going to the toilet and gone to go downstairs. I've put my hand on the rail and of course, what I used to do, and still do, I've gripped the rail to go down the stairs and do two steps down to the bottom. Of course sometimes if you wash your hands that goes horribly wrong. You don't grip onto the rail and so you slide down and become a tumbly fall down to the bottom of the stairs."
As the Housemates wondered about the dangers of living on the edge, Eugene launched into another story.
"I was once cycling back from the radio club and I sometimes wear a baseball cap. I was wearing a t-shirt and jumper and had the jumper off. I was cycling along and got a bit cold, pulled the jumper on while I'm still cycling and it got caught on the..."
Anthony could take no more and intervened. "Eugene, you've told us that story 500 times!"
Undeterred Eugene went again.
"Have I told you my cell phone incident? I had the phone in one hand and the bike in the other, riding along. My mother was talking to me, I fell off my bike, it was excruciatingly painful. My bike landed where Craig is, the phone where the rack is. I took a few seconds to compose myself, so I go over a pick up the phone and my mother was still talking!"
"Aye," said Anthony. "You've told us that as well."
Oh dear.
