Emmerdale's sly newcomer DI Malone continues to make his presence felt tonight (March 6) by issuing Will Taylor with new demands.

Viewers have just seen former Liverpool 1 actor Mark Womack make his first appearance in the role of Malone, who's a menacing figure from Will's past.

In Friday's episode, Malone remains on a mission to find out what happened to his old gun, which was used to shoot Nate Robinson recently.

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is furious when he catches Malone snooping around the garage. Although Malone is left disappointed when he doesn't find anything, Cain is alarmed to see his new nemesis behaving so boldly.

Later on, Malone orders Will to get the truth from Cain about the gun – or else. He's continuing to threaten Will's family to get his own way, leaving his old acquaintance shaken and deeply worried.

Will then has to subtly quiz Cain about what happened to the weapon, without giving away his reasons for wanting to know.

When Cain lets slip over how he got rid of the gun, Will is pleased to have information that he can pass onto Malone. However, both men may be about to realise that Malone's bad behaviour is only just getting started…

Speaking about his character, Mark recently explained: "He's very Machiavellian. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Even though he is a policeman, he behaves in much the same way as the criminals he is after."
