cases of animal cruelty have shot up by 79% this year!write a letter or send a email to your mp to ask them to support the new aniaml welfare bill.go to www.rspca.org.uk. the bill would introduce a duty of care,which means that anyone who owns a animal is legally obliged to look after its welfare.
do it now and help save thousands of aniamls lives!
1,732 were convicted of animal cruelty in 03-04
the rspca rescued a staggering 12,560 animals in 04
rspca investigators found 68,732 animals were neglected over the last year
investigators discovered 19,352 animals that did not have access to water - a 96% increase on 03 -04
cruel owners ignored advice of rspca staff in 922 incidents last year
the rspca recieved 117,356 complaints of cruelty in 04
inspectors found 23,522 cases where animals were not free of pain,injury or disease last year,thats one case every 23 minutes.
a lack of clean enviroment was found in 26,449 cases last year
dogs are the pets most at risk from cruelty - with more then 18000 not recieving basic care!
here is a few of the stories in the sun today-
sick robert howsam was jailed for just 6 months in sept 03 after killing TWO PUPPIES by hanging them from a tree.he strung up the labrador and collie crosses and left them to die slowly in a park near his home. he was found guilty of two counts of animal cruelty.he is thought to have killed the pets after a arguement with twith the owner who he,lived with.
a boy of 16 subjected a cat to hours of torture,he hacked off its tail,bashed it,held it close to a electric fire and blew smoke in its face.the animal escaped and was taken to a vet.the youth claimed a dog caused the poor cats injurys but later admitted to doing it.he has shown no remorse and has been sentanced to four months in youth custody for each offence.

it ashame what people do to animals, when we had drug users living next door to me they went on holiday for 2 weeks and left a little kitten in the house. thier house had been broke into whiles they was away my dad checked it out then phoned the cops my dad found this kitten in the front room with no food or water, we looked after it for a while feed it and played with him he was very playful, but he would not sleep of a night time or daytime so we suspected he had picked up drugs of te floor, normally kittens sleep alot but this one was hyperactive. the rspca had the cat after we looked after it, i would have kept the cat if i could have but my own cat didn't like him in the house.

I love animals, and I'm always upset to read stories of such cruelty!! It makes me wonder what goes through these people's minds.:(

i love animals aswell i heard on the news last night that one teenage boy chopped the ears of a puppy, people who harm animals for no reason shouldn't be allowed to go free!

Sad though :(
very very sad. we took the kids i worked with to the rspca animal shelter that is near us once and we saw all the dogs cats etc that had been harmed and rescued there were so many and it was so sad. it makes you wish that you could take them all home and keep them safe!

my sister gor a cat from the rspca and bought er home but she spent all her time hiding under their bed! she never got over her cruelty even though she spent years with my sister. she was such a cute cat but if you got too near she would just run away!

I suppose, like us, they don't forget. It's a shame that what a person inflicted on them, will haunt them for the rest of their lives.

Oh my god naughty word!! That just really got to me. Hope he stays in prison for as long as I can remember :angry:
i love All Animals but i hate when People Abuse them i have seen the Adverts on tv about this and i found them Upsetting

Neither do I. Why even buy it in the first place!! I would love a tiny dog!! Tiny dogs can't grow and are so sweet I also love HUGE ones. The mdeium sized ones are ok but I love dogs with alot of fur which are TINY or HUGE!!
Cats are sooooooooo sweet when they are kittens but I would always love pets!! I used to have fish for two eyars but when we moved we gave them to my uncle. He still looks after them and got plenty more :) I only got fishes since I was small and I was begging for a dog!!
Maybe when I grow up I will get them tiny dogs!!

Exactly and we seen results of thier memories affected. How they act..emotions + feelings. I wish all the pets will just be safe!! Why do people do this :angry:

They do it because they are cruel, thoughtless individuals, with no emotion or guilt. They are too week to do it to another person, as they know they will hit back, so take it out on the ones they wont, animals.
