Home and Away confirms six-week Christmas break on Channel 5
The soap will be off air in the UK from late next month.

Home and Away will be taking a six-week break in the UK for the Christmas period.

The Australian soap is going on a hiatus on Channel 5 starting late next month – with the last episode of 2019 airing on Friday, November 22. The first episode of 2020 has been scheduled for Monday, January 6 for UK viewers.

There's no news for fans Down Under just yet. It airs on Channel 7 in Australia, but details of when the show will go off air there have still yet to be confirmed.

Neighbours is airing all-year-round and over Christmas for the second year running, on Channel 5 in the UK and 10 Peach in Australia. A big part of that is down to Channel 5's multi-year broadcast deal with the Ramsay Street soap.

By contrast, Home and Away traditionally airs 230 episodes in a year. As Channel 5 airs the show five times a week, this works out to 46 weeks – hence the need to take a six-week break.

Meanwhile, Summer Bay fans will soon see Olivia Deeble's exit as Raffy Morrison.

Raffy's exit storyline recently kicked off, as Deeble confirmed that she would be leaving after three years in the role.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 (Australia).

Whatsontv.co.uk article. A series of H&A Christmas specials are to air on Ch5 (My5) from Monday 25 Nov, with a new episode to be released every Monday. There is no word yet as to whether they will be released on 7Plus for Aust viewers.
