New York rockers The Scissor Sisters have been playing secret gigs in disguise to crowds of just 250 to gauge the reaction to tracks from their forthcoming second album.
The Laura stars have spent three weeks performing under the pseudonyms Bridget Jones' Diarrhoea, Megapussi and Portion Control at the Big Apple's Mercury Lounge.
A thrilled guest says, "They performed seven new songs, which sounded great, as well as familiar hits like Filthy/Gorgeous.
"Most of the crowd had figured out what was going on but it was still a fantastic show.
"To think, a couple of weeks ago they performed in front of 200,000 at the London Live 8 show, and now they are trying out new stuff in front of only 250."
