Fourteen years after she left Summer Bay, ex-Home and Away star Bec Hewitt is said to be in talks for a new gig to revive her acting career.
According to an insider, the beloved Aussie is in the process of working out a deal to star on the long-running soap Neighbours!
“Now that Lleyton has retired from tennis, Bec feels that it’s her turn to focus on her career and she’s got the time to do it now that the kids are older,” the source dishes.
“Plus filming is in Melbourne, so it’s super convenient and manageable for her.”
But could these tense pictures of the couple reveal that the change in work schedules could be causing some stress?
Apparently, Bec’s desire to return to the screen was prompted by her recent hosting gig on Nine’s travel series Hello world.
“She felt right back at home and it made her realise just how much she had missed being in front of a camera,” the source says.
The 36-year-old star first prompted speculation she was returning to acting after posting a throwback photo with her first agent, Joan Gibson, last month on Instagram.
Bec isn’t the first Home and Away star to jump soap ships, with Jodi Anasta, Christie Hayes, Lincoln Lewis and Andrew Morley also making the switch in recent years.
