Coronation Street looks set to revisit the Callum Logan storyline, as a familiar character returns.

Marion Logan, played by Susan Cookson and last seen in 2016, will arrive back in Weatherfield again as she asks for custody of David Platt's stepson Max, reports The Sun.

Max's biological parents, Callum and Kylie Platt, are both dead – and with David currently in prison, Marion believes Max would benefit from living with her instead of staying with the Platts.

The situation is further complicated given Max's recent bad behaviour since David was sentenced.

Max has been seen smashing up pots in Victoria Gardens and violently lashing out at Nick Tilsley, as well as ruining Lily's birthday party. He has also stopped taking his ADHD medication.

It's not the first time that Callum's storyline will be revisited since his death in 2015. In 2018, Sarah Platt reveals to Gary Windass the truth behind Callum's murder – that it was Kylie who was responsible for the death.

Kylie died in 2016 in David's arms, just as they were about to move to Barbados together.

Coronation Street has recast Callum Logan's (Sean Ward) mother for her return storyline.

When Marion Logan first appeared in the ITV soap, she was portrayed by Susan Cookson (above).

However, in scenes that will air next week, Marion will make her return to the cobbles and be played by The Bill actress Kerry Peers.

No reason has been given for the recasting, although Susan Cookson is now a recurring guest star in Emmerdale.

Marion's return will see Callum Logan's storyline revisited.

To recap, the drug dealer was murdered by Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) as part of a live episode last year, with his corpse buried in concrete by Kylie, Sarah (Tina O'Brien) and David (Jack P Shepherd).

Last year, Sarah also confessed to Gary Windass (Mikey North) what happened that night.

Future scenes will see Marion return to Weatherfield to request that Kylie and Callum's son Max live with her, instead of the Platts. Max's step-father David is currently in prison.

Meanwhile, Sean Ward, who plays Callum, has since landed a new soap role.

But, could Marion unwittingly get to the bottom of what happened to her son? And, will Marion get Max back?
