Neighbours has revealed a first look at killer Robert Robinson making a shock return to the soap.

Adam Hunter has reprised his role as Paul's evil son, who was last seen on screen in the show in 2007.

As we revealed recently, Robert's return storyline begins when Leo Tanaka and Roxy Willis discover that David is planning to visit his villainous half-brother in prison.

Leo is unable to keep this crucial information from Paul, who rushes off to the jail in an attempt to keep his two sons apart.

Paul's efforts are successful, as Robert is angry to see his father and retreats as soon as they come face-to-face.

This leaves David disappointed, but he's not the only one – Robert's teenage daughter Harlow is also at the prison and has missed out on her chance to visit him for the first time.

As Paul had no idea that Robert had a daughter, it's left to Harlow to explain the backstory.

It turns out that Harlow's mother met Robert while she was backpacking through Tasmania. Harlow has written to her dad in the past, but this was her first chance to meet him in person.

Aaron and David both invite Harlow back to Erinsborough until she can arrange another meeting with Robert. This immediately leaves Paul concerned, fearing that his granddaughter will have a bad impression of him from Robert's letters.

Fortunately, Harlow soon clears things up by insisting that she doesn't take Robert's word as gospel and genuinely wants to get to know Paul too. Will Paul be able to prove himself to his granddaughter?

The role of Harlow is being played by Jemma Donovan, the real-life daughter of Neighbours legend Jason Donovan. Her casting was announced in March, but show bosses had been keeping quiet about how Harlow fits into the Robinson family tree until now.

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Wow how far fetched is this just to bring in another Robinson !!! Why not just recast the ones who have left the show that everyone knew instead of secret lives of pet Robinsons?

So according to this “continuity terms Elle was born off-screen in October 1989,” so Robert would also have been born in 1989.

So according to this “continuity terms Elle was born off-screen in October 1989,” so Robert would also have been born in 1989.

On Wiki it reads that Elle was subject to retroactive continuity meaning her character was aged by three years. But even then Robert would have been 14 when Harlow was born, so I guess technically possible!

Neighbours is bringing back Paul Robinson's evil son Robert again
Robert is set to shake things up.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a29772101/neighbours-spoilers-paul-robinson-evil-son-robert-return/

Neighbours is teasing the return of Paul Robinson's evil son Robert, as the character will be getting in touch with his dad out of the blue next month.

Viewers know that Robert Robinson (Adam Hunter) was first introduced on the soap in 2006 before leaving again in 2007, and he is currently serving a prison sentence for a murder.

More recently Robert made a brief appearance earlier this year to set up the arrival of his teenage daughter Harlow (Jemma Donovan).

In the storyline, Leo Tanaka and Roxy Willis discovered that David was planning to visit his villainous half-brother in prison, prompting Paul to rush to the jail in a bid to keep his sons apart.

Seeing his dad, a furious Robert retreated immediately and cut short David's visit, but it also disappointed his teenage daughter, Harlow, who was hoping to visit Robert for the first time and was later invited to Erinsborough to get to know the wide Robinson clan instead.

And now, according to Inside Soap, Robert will be making his presence known on the soap once again as he decides to get in touch with Paul, despite previously claiming that he doesn't want anything to do with his family.

Neighbours star Rebekah Elmaloglou, who plays Paul's wife Terese Willis on the Australian soap, shared the news of his return with the publication, teasing: "Robert sends something to Paul in the mail."

Although she kept any other details about Robert's surprise return under tight wraps, it still begs the question – what does Robert want from Paul?

Elsewhere, next week Harlow will be left with an important decision to make as her mum Prue starts laying the groundwork for her and Harlow to return to London with the promise of a rich and happy life. Will Harlow leave Erinsborough?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours reveals Robert Robinson's dramatic return storyline
Paul Robinson's murderous son is back.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a30124769/neighbours-robert-robinson-return-storyline/

Neighbours has a dramatic return lined up for Paul Robinson's troubled son Robert.

It was recently announced that Adam Hunter would be reprising his role after a cameo earlier this year, when the character was seen in prison turning away a visit from his father Paul (Stefan Dennis).

This scene served as a way to introduce Robert's teenage daughter Harlow (Jemma Donovan) into Neighbours while he continued serving time for murder.

Soap bosses have now confirmed that Robert will be brought back into the soap once again as David (Takaya Honda) needs a kidney transplant, in the aftermath of his hit-and-run accident.

In scenes airing later this month, David's condition takes a turn for the worse when he faces a serious infection, forcing Paul to take drastic action to find another kidney.

While Aaron (Matt Wilson) seeks out Dipi Rebecchi (Sharon Johal) for a tarot card reading, Paul goes so far as to ask Claudia about buying a kidney on the black market.

Harlow comes up with another possible solution when she decides to bring Roxy (Zima Anderson) along to visit her father Robert in prison for the first time to ask for his help.

Her decision to contact Robert is a nerve-wracking one, but she is overjoyed to hear back from him that he has passed the first two of three tests to qualify as a kidney donor.

Robert tells her he is even willing to be a donor if he passes the third, but he has demands in return. This leaves Harlow and Roxy with no choice but to tell Paul what they've been up to.

Paul is at first furious that the girls even contacted his villainous son, but is convinced by Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) to at least meet with him. Once at the prison, Robert names a price that shocks and horrifies his father.

But with David's life hanging in the balance, does Paul have any other choice but to meet Robert's demand?

Neighbours airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, December 16 at 12.50pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours star Adam Hunter reflects on Cameron Robinson's shock death
Robert isn't the only role he's played in the show.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a30304547/neighbours-adam-hunter-cameron-robinson-death/

Neighbours star Adam Hunter has spoken to Digital Spy about his days playing two different characters in the show.

The actor recently reprised his role as Paul Robinson's killer son Robert, who's still in prison for the crimes that he committed more than a decade ago.

In 2006, Adam also played the part of Robert's identical brother Cameron, but the character's time on Ramsay Street was only short as he died after being knocked over by Max Hoyland.

Speaking to Digital Spy about the challenge of portraying two characters at the same time, Adam laughed: "I get this question all the time. Most people want to know if I got double the pay!

"Yes, it was challenging – they give you two lots of lines to learn, and then you have to play yourself against yourself in the room. At that point in time, I was in theatre and was capable of learning a lot of dialogue, but it doesn't make it any easier when you step in front of the camera.

"It was exhausting and you have to really concentrate. It was good fun, though. I got to play two different characters and it's basically like two very weird versions of yourself."

Asked whether he thinks it's a shame that Cameron was killed off, Adam replied: "Not really, he was the weaker of the two. Cameron was the nice one and so unfortunately he had to go.

"I had more fun playing Robert and the writers had more fun writing him. Cameron was just there for the story, really, as they were twins. Cameron was just the one who had to go."

Robert will be playing a central role in Neighbours' Christmas episodes this year, as he escapes from Erinsborough Hospital after agreeing to donate a kidney to his half-brother David Tanaka.

A new trailer released by the show has hinted that the plot is building to another big showdown between Robert and Paul.

On working with Stefan Dennis, who plays Paul, Adam added: "He's brilliant. He's got a heart of gold and I loved every minute of working with him again. He has great empathy as an actor and is very good at conveying emotion.

"If there is a scene that requires him to go a bit deeper, he can go there every single time. That is lovely to have on set and to work opposite that.

"He is a great actor to work with. Considering the history between the two characters, it is enjoyable to have someone who can show such depth and complexity."

Neighbours continues on Monday (December 23) at 11.20am and 6.05pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours boss shares new Christmas teasers for Robert Robinson's return
"Robert is not without redeeming features."

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a30308825/neighbours-spoilers-robert-robinson-christmas-teasers/

Neighbours' executive producer Jason Herbison has spoken exclusively to Digital Spy about the shock return of Robert Robinson.

Robert (Adam Hunter) is taking centre stage in dramatic Christmas episodes this week, which see him escape from Erinsborough Hospital after agreeing to donate a kidney to his half-brother David Tanaka.

Despite his scheming, Robert appears to have a genuine interest in his daughter Harlow (Jemma Donovan), who was determined to spend more time with him in Monday's episode.

Speaking to Digital Spy about revisiting Robert's storyline, Herbison explained: "We've been wanting to revisit Robert for some time and finally had an opportunity this year, via Harlow.

"Having a daughter gives Robert an extra dimension, he's not a full-blown villain. He's actually very similar to Paul in that his children are his Achilles heel.

"Robert wants to have a relationship with Harlow, however his past is very much in the way. He's a damaged person, but not without redeeming features."

Official spoilers released by the show have revealed that Robert will pose a major threat to Elly Conway later this week, when he holds her at knifepoint while she's in labour at the Kennedy house.

Those scenes will air on Christmas Day, as the Aussie soap continues to screen all-year-round thanks to its deal with Channel 5.

Asked about upping the drama levels with this year's festive stories, Herbison explained: "We know that Christmas Day soaps are a huge tradition in the UK and that viewers expect big drama. Every year we need to up the ante.

"We planned for a couple of our stories to take major turns and provide repercussions for months to come.

"Being Christmas, we also have some lovely heartland Neighbours moments. It's a very reflective time of year, particularly for those who have lost loved ones and we explore these themes too."

Neighbours airs on weekdays on Channel 5 (UK) and 10 Peach (Australia).
