Makosi tried to get to the bottom of Derek's dislike for Orlaith, yet they both ended up sniping at how much of her flesh they'd seen in the House.
Makosi reported that she told Orlaith not to call Science an attention seeker. "We're all attention seekers. He's loud. You take your clothes off," she said she told her.
Derek said he couldn't understand why Orlaith was in the House, nor why Sam and Saskia had been.
"She's so ungripping," he said of Orlaith. "Which is why she takes her clothes off."
Derek said he could "even" understand why Eugene was there, but when the poor man entered the bedroom, he too felt the lash of his tongue.
Eugene was asking where the baked potatoes were, indicating inverted commas with his hands, when Derek said, "What's all this?" Referring to his hand signals.
"It's terribly vulgar. People know what an inverted comma is. It's very Daily Express. Very, very vulgar."
If Eugene was surprised at the attack he didn't show it. He did an impression of Orlaith searching for spuds instead. But Derek then picked up on him saying baked potatoes when he was talking about unbaked, baking potatoes. How could he put up with such inaccuracy?
"How could a potato be baked if it hasn't been in the oven? Oh, baking potatoes! People do not speak English anymore. It's just awful. I'm surrounded by people who can't speak English. I'm going to die," said Derek.
Oh, how he's suffered. But at least he's not ungripping.
