Speaking about whether Maya will entertain Jacob's crush, Louisa Clein – who plays her – recently told Inside Soap: "There is a lot still to explore with this character.
"Maya hints later on down the line that she has slightly dysfunctional parents, or certainly a mother figure that is lacking, which has created more of a desire in Maya to be adored and needed. There are things in her past that have created the person she is now."

Emmerdale confirms Maya Stepney will finally be caught out in special week of episodes
Emmerdale's Maya Stepney will be caught out later this month, as part of the show's 'Big Night Out' special episodes.
The evil schoolteacher, who has been grooming Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), is finally exposed on the week of April 22, as she and Jacob will be spotted together by a female villager after a fire alarm breaks up a party.
But the night out will actually be split into two parts, with the second half being revealed on the week of May 6 through a series of flashbacks.
The week commencing April 22 will see numerous characters, including Maya (Louisa Clein) and Jacob, as well as Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade), David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), heading to a nightclub.
Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins), Ellis Chapman (Asan N'Jie), Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) are among the other characters partying that night.
When the fire alarm is set off, the villagers are forced to evacuate which causes plenty of confusion and much drama, including Rhona meeting a "handsome stranger".
Meanwhile, Victoria is unable to find her friends outside. It was previously revealed that she will be raped during the night out.
Two weeks later, viewers will find out the whole story about what happened to the villagers inside and outside of the nightclub as "lives will be changed forever".
The show has been hinting at Maya's comeuppance recently. Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) caught Maya and Jacob together in bed and is now trying to blackmail them.

Guess only one would actually kill her and the others keep quiet .. interesting concept but I do not want anybody else become involved in a crime and I want her to do jail time .. a very long one.............

i'm very ashamed to admit it but i'm genuinely excited to see how the maya murdering shenanigans pan out. Leyla's cold, emotionless voice was genuinely chilling

Emmerdale's David Metcalfe has tough questions to answer next week after Maya Stepney is attacked.
David (Matthew Wolfenden) becomes the prime suspect after someone lashes out at Maya following her decision to return to the village.
Scenes airing later this week see David's father Eric Pollard catch Maya (Louisa Clein) spying on Jacob Gallagher from afar. This sparks a showdown as Eric gives Maya an ultimatum.
Although we can't reveal the exact circumstances, Maya is admitted to hospital after a violent incident a few days later.
PC Swirling is quick to visit David to ask him some questions, while Jacob also thinks that his dad is responsible.
Struggling with the situation, David heads to the hospital to confront Maya and they exchange some angry words – just as PC Swirling arrives.
Maya confirms who attacked her and as David is escorted out by Swirling, he's alarmed to see Jacob waiting outside. It's clear that the disturbing connection between Maya and Jacob is as strong as ever.
Once back at home, Jacob discloses a key piece of information that causes some of David's friends and family to turn their backs on him.
David already feels alone after the turbulent events, but he ends up doing something the next day that could make matters even worse. Is David now on a downward spiral?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, June 10 at 7pm on ITV.

Not sure if she is back as regular to taunt Jacob and his family or just a brief return for the Who Is The Daddy storyline.... I know David had chemo but that does not mean he cannot produce offspring...
Not coming back ... not yet anyway, but they will have shown her being pregnant on release from prison for a reason .....

If the baby is belong to Jacob then that proves her guilty of sex with a minor but David is the daddy so he will always be connected to her unless she is killed off screen

I thought Jacob lied that they had not had sex to protect Maya so she was only charged with sending texts to a minor

Jacob was definitely 16 when they had sex, so Maya was not guilty of sex with a minor.
