I thought it was nearer 9 million, and that emmerdale was about 1 million or maybe a bit more lower

lol i think because we love EE we're just thinking its like 9 million but i really did think EE had more viewers than that.

the glory days for ee are well gone for the moment,it's a shame really cos friday nights episode was good, their problem seems to have started after christmas and then they can't seem to claw their way back up,they seem to be catering for young people to much rather than people in general, whereas emmerdale cater for all age groups but peticularly older people like my gran who isn't going out on summer evenings

During the Summer, EE normally gets 8 or 9 million and during the winter it can still get 11/12 million viewers. It just depends on the weather really.

I think the proms had something to do with it to be honest. They did over-run and even I nearly gave up because I didn't know when it would be coming on.

I think it was to do with the proms. People got annoyed with waiting and switched over. After all they were running 10 minutes late and this annoyed me within the first minute.

The proms on Friday were dedicated to the London bombings so you can't really blame them for running over. They should have put a message on the bottom though to say they'd still be on.

I thought it was okay episode, but nothing out of the ordinary. I never think the ratings mean much for a particular episode anyway. I mean if an episode gets low ratings, it doesn't necessarily mean it was crap, just that people thought the ones leading up to it were and couldn't be bothered watching.

No I don't blame them at all. At the time I didn't know why it was on and just assumed that it was just a musical that just ran over schedule. Because it was dedicated to the bombings, then fair enough and this shouldn't be held against the late viewing of ee on the night.

Even if figures dropped to 2 million it doesn't matter because the running over was dedicated to something far more important than a soap.

I do agree that they should have put a message at the bottom. At least people would have known what the cause was. :)

However, I do think the decline in ratings was partly to do with this though, not that it matters.

People probably got bored of waiting and so watched something else. I had no idea myself what was going on. I can understand why the proms over-ran but there was no real reason for the BBC to make themselves be ten minutes behind schedule.

Friday is always lower anyways traditionally even in the winter it's always a good half a million or more down.

Friday and Saturday nights are when people go out, so a lot of people prob either tape or watch the omnibus. Plus it is summer time and a lot of people are away. Viewing figures don't really mean anything anways.

I'm still enjoying Easties and think that it is going in the right direction, UP. Some fantastic stuff coming up and some new characters:)

In my opinion Easties and Emmerdale are on top form at the mo and Corrie is going downhill fast.:)

Abi

The ratings for that might have rocketted for all we know

Treacle
18-07-2005, 14:45
The ratings for the omnibus are usually a steady 4 million when one of the weekly episodes have been lower.

Abi

If people couldn't be bothered to wait for THAT episode, then will they wait in the future for episodes which aren't anywhere near as good?
