Christie starred as Kirsty Phillips in Home and Away for two stints between 2000 and 2005 and again from 2008 to 2009, during which time she was involved in one of the soap's most controversial storylines when she knowingly started a relationship with Kane Phillips, who sexually assaulted her sister.

But now she'll be heading to Ramsay Street in a new role, where her character will be thrown in at the deep end and quickly embroiled in a complex love triangle.

"I am so lucky to join the cast of Neighbours, it's a dream come true," Christie said of the casting news.

"Literally a dream I had a while back I was working on the series and now I am! I was beyond excited and cried when I found out I had the role because I love acting. It is the best professional experience I have had in television and I love waking up every day to play my character.

"I can't wait to keep going further in the storyline, there are a lot of layers to her."

And it may spark trouble for Chloe.

Neighbours has revealed the identity of former Home and Away star Christie Hayes' character – and it looks like she's going to be involved in a love triangle.

Christie will be playing Pierce Greyson's fiancée Ebony, who is bound to cause trouble for Chloe (April Rose Pengilly).

Pierce made his comeback to Ramsay Street on Tuesday (May 21), but Chloe has no idea he's engaged to another woman. But according to Inside Soap, when the two women do cross paths, Chloe is set to turn detective.

The news of Christie's Neighbours casting was revealed in March, with the actress saying it was "a dream come true".

"I was beyond excited and cried when I found out I had the role because I love acting," Christie said. "It is the best professional experience I have had in television and I love waking up every day to play my character.

"I can't wait to keep going further in the storyline, there are a lot of layers to her."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours lines up nasty love triangle storyline for Home and Away star Christie Hayes
It's Ebony vs Chloe in the battle for Pierce.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a27691923/neighbours-spoilers-home-and-away-christie-hayes-ebony-story/

Neighbours has revealed more details about new character Ebony, played by former Home and Away star Christie Hayes.

Ebony makes her first appearance on the Aussie soap this Friday (June 7), when she's revealed as the new fiancée of charmer Pierce Greyson.

Ever since Pierce returned to Erinsborough last month, Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) has been fixated on the idea that he's back for her.

When Chloe tries to let Pierce (Tim Robards) down gently, she's left humiliated as Ebony arrives on the scene and she realises that she got it completely wrong.

Chloe's awkward situation only gets worse when Ebony can't resist taking an unusual interest in her, wanting to know all about Pierce's old flame.

Ebony's behaviour leaves Chloe suspicious as she starts to fear that something isn't right with the new lady in Pierce's life, although Aaron Brennan and David Tanaka both warn her that it's best not to get involved.

Despite this, Chloe becomes preoccupied with the idea that Ebony may be trying to get her hands on Pierce's money. Ebony is equally sceptical over her rival, fearing that Chloe is trying to win Pierce back.

Showing her true colours after initially biding her time, Ebony finally turns openly nasty towards Chloe – warning that although Chloe may have regrets about giving up "her meal ticket", she needs to accept that Pierce is unavailable now.

As Ebony vows not to give Pierce up without a fight, how will Chloe react?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Friday, June 14 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours confirms Ebony's secret as Chloe Brennan discovers everything
The truth is out!

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a28068503/neighbours-spoilers-ebony-buttrose-chloe-brennan-secret/

Neighbours' Chloe Brennan finds herself keeping secrets from Pierce Greyson next week after discovering the truth about his fiancée Ebony Buttrose.

Tensions have been rising between the two ladies in recent episodes of the Aussie soap, but when Chloe (April Rose Pengilly) has a chance to cause trouble for her rival, she makes the surprising choice not to take it.

Upcoming episodes see Chloe discover that Ebony has taken delivery of cheap glass bottles for the perfume she's trying to launch, rather than the more expensive ones Pierce (Tim Robards) believes she's using.

Pierce has already given Ebony the money for some classy crystal perfume bottles, but it seems she has other uses for the cash.

Chloe's suspicions rise when she overhears Ebony on the phone to someone, promising to send them more funds soon.

Although Chloe's brother Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) advises her not to get involved in this sticky situation, she can't resist doing some detective work and roots through Ebony's desk drawer for further proof.

Chloe gets her hands on bank records showing transfers to a mystery account and when Ebony catches her snooping, it's clear that Chloe already has the upper hand.

Backed into a corner, Ebony confesses that she is secretly using some of Pierce's money to support her sister, who's a struggling single mother.

Ebony admits that she hasn't been entirely honest with Pierce, but firmly denies being a gold-digger and insists that she does genuinely love him.

Unsure of what to do next, Chloe once again consults with her brother Mark, who thinks that Pierce deserves to know the truth.

Despite this, Chloe is finally convinced that Ebony does love Pierce and decides not to rock the boat. Is she making the right choice by keeping Ebony's secret?

Christie Hayes, who plays Ebony, recently told Digital Spy: "I think that Ebony and Chloe are both very strong, honest women. They do have a tendency to want to fight over this one guy, so it should be fun to watch that unfold.

"I think there's a bit of a miscommunication and misunderstanding between them as well. As the storyline unfolds, you'll see that in a different life, these two would be friends.

"While they're not best friends by any means, they start working together for the greater good and an outcome they both want."

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 25 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours lines up a shock exit as Ebony Buttrose makes a big decision
Chloe Brennan confesses she has feelings for Pierce Greyson.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a28243486/neighbours-ebony-buttrose-exit-decision/

Neighbours will see Ebony Buttrose make an exit as Chloe Brennan admits her feelings for Pierce Greyson.

Next week's scenes appear to mark the end of former Home and Away star Christie Hayes' guest stint.

Ebony has been hiding the secret that she's using some of Pierce's (Tim Robards) money to support her struggling single mother sister, and after this gets exposed, Chloe (April Rose Pengilly) tries to help repair Ebony and Pierce's relationship.

This doesn't happen easily, though. Pierce admits that he's hurt, while Ebony feels insecure about Chloe and Pierce's connection.

Ebony asks Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor) about Chloe and Pierce. When she takes his advice and heads over to speak with Pierce, she sees the pair getting close – and assuming the worst, she runs away.

Later, Mark tells Chloe about Ebony's feelings, and Pierce reveals that Ebony is gone.

Chloe struggles to come to terms with he fact that she may have played a part in Ebony deciding to flee. After a conversation with Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan), she speaks to Pierce and confesses her feelings for him.

But Pierce reacts angrily and demands that she leaves.

Hayes recently told Digital Spy that she would be open to returning as Ebony in the future.

"If it does happen, great – but if it doesn't happen, great," she said. "I feel like whatever journey you're meant to take in life will come at the right time. This certainly came to me at the right time for a lot of reasons professionally and personally.

"I'm always open to whatever is around the corner, absolutely."

Neighbours airs these scenes from Monday, July 8, weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
