Anthony confronted Derek in the garden after hearing that he has been spreading rumours that he is gay.
"Derek, it's come to my attention that you think I'm gay," angry Ant said. "Do you think I'm gay?" he asked, choosing not to beat around the bush.
Slightly surprised by Anthony's forceful tone, Derek said: "I don't think so now, not today anyway."
Like a good politician, Derek tried to avoid giving direct answers to Anthony's questions, but the irate lad was not going to take it lying down.
"Did you not say it?" Anthony demanded.
"I don't know whether you are or you're not, and frankly I don't give a damn." Derek said, deftly covering his bases. "I don't think you are now. But would it matter if people thought you were?"
Anthony said it would not matter, but wanted to make it clear he is absolutely, totally not gay.
"Sometimes you meet people that could possibly be [gay] and they don't even know that they are," Derek said cosily with a rye smile. "Lots of people need help in coming to terms with their sexuality."
"I don't need help," Anthony laughed before dashing off, probably for a spot of early afternoon massage with an ever-willing Craig.
