Elsa, played by Kelly Harrison, is VERY familiar to viewers.
She’s best known for starring in Casualty as paramedic Nikki Marshall and recently she recently played Laura Davies in the Channel 4 comedy Derry Girls.
Kelly also appeared in the shows Born and Bred, Waking the Dead, Dalziel and Pascoe, Paddington Green, Where the Heart Is and in the thriller film Marian, Again.
She has also appeared in Silent Witness, Happy Valley and Doctors.
But her arrival on the Street is sure to be explosive when factory boss Carla – played by Alison King – finds herself suspicious over Nick’s evasiveness about his business commitments in Nottingham and ends up making a discovery about the recently returned businessman.
After some digging she finds out that Nick co-owns a restaurant with a woman called Elsa.
Meanwhile Nick – recently returned actor Ben Price – is continuing to screen calls from Elsa but he’s horrified to discover that Carla has been looking at his restaurant website.
Later Carla reveals that she’s heading off to Nottingham to check out Nick’s restaurant but he talks her out of it, promising he will reveal all.
He tells her that he did his mate a favour and for tax reasons agreed to become joint partner with his mate’s wife Elsa.
But – unknown to Carla – Nick calls Elsa and lies that his mum is ill and he has to stay in Weatherfield.
He goes on to tell Leanne Battersby that he’s committed to being with her but he needs to go back to Nottingham to tie up some loose ends.
So he’s stunned when he sees Elsa heading to No.8.
Nick manages to stop her in time and steers her towards the Bistro as an intrigued Carla watches on.
An angry Carla – furious that Nick has missed their business meeting – gets his car keys off the desk and then gets his address in Nottingham from his sat nav. But what she finds leaves her very surprised indeed.
