I like to see it's getting some support from Aunty Beeb:
EastEnders also comes under attack: “Questions have also been asked about its quality, relevance and competitive strength,” said the governors."
Director-general Mark Thompson insisted: "It is one of our best-loved shows and at its best is one of the most exciting and creative programmes we do."
But he admitted: "There were some issues, which we are now grappling with.
"The audience has never been weak, but I hope that over the year they will come back. We've been looking very hard at EastEnders because it is a very, very important programme for BBC 1."

There's nothing wrong with EastEnders! I cant understand why it's lost lots of viewers... Coronation street and Emmerdale are worse than EastEnders at the moment! :thumbsdow
It's only really lost a million or so viewers.
I notice it's getting around 9 million at the moment which is what Corrie is getting. The Summer is always bad for soaps.

I think I know why but I can't belive EE is just letting Corrie win how ever hard it tries!!
It's not the shows fault. I personally think it's getting back on form.

Eastenders has had it's low points over the last year but it's great to see the show is on the up. :D

I don't think I could ever give up watching EastEnders Trinity but if I was to go on holiday at the moment I wouldn't get my mam to tape it for me like she normally would not unless something significant was happening. If it was just the usual Mofie/Shannis I wouldn't bother about the missing a fortnight or however long it would be.

to be honest lately i have found coronation rather boring and i am barley tuning in2 emmerdale anymore. eastenders is the only soap i have never stopped watching.

Eastenders was certainly at a low point at one stage but since Den's death and the arrival of Johnny Allen it's got much better, last weeks episode were the best I had seen, its certainly improving while Corrie seems to be rapidly deterioating
the problem with the stories in all of the soaps really is that they drag stories out for too long. Shannis, Molfie, Shell and Charlie, Den, Scott and Zoe... They've all gone on for months.
Personally i prefer it when they get a story over within the month!

Your right, it probably wont; but its an example of them dragging a story on for ages and then never finshing it properly. That is hte main thing which annoys me with EE because i think they do it the worse, although it is done in the others.

EE do get really good stories like that, just not many of them, whereas i prefer lots of short but good stories. I guess its just personal preferance though

Can you explain to me why Shannis were argueing earlier, cause i'm really confused!
I have the attention span of a gold fish so long storylines are a no, no for me.
It's awful though. I wish I could stick with long storylines a lot better.
but when they go on for months and months it becomes a bit impossible though

I guess teh producers think that that is what is going to keep the viewers tuning in, but it tunes me out 100% after months of it!
