Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but as of last week, UKTV DRAMA is showing Eastenders (right back from episode 1)
They're showing 2 episodes a day at midday (then repeated at 1am) But you can catch up on them all on their website

Personally, I can't stand EE any more (and haven't watched it in ages) but the early episodes still make for gritty TV drama, that tackled tricky subjects (without the need to shoe-horn them in to merely tick boxes, as soaps seem to nowadays)
Although some of these episodes have been editted (either for 'racist' language....or funnily enough....those old salted peanut picture displays that revealed topless models underneath) :)
I'd sooner read what people think of these classic episodes (rather than the joke that EE has sadly morphed into)
