Former EastEnders star Ellen Thomas will be appearing in Casualty as Jacob's mum Omo Masters.
The actress, best known to soap fans for playing Claudette Thomas, has joined the Casualty cast in a semi-regular role.
Omo's first scenes will air in September, but fans will have to stay tuned to find out what brings her to Holby – and what it will mean for Jacob.
Prior to this, Ellen played Vincent Hubbard's mum Claudette from 2015 to 2016, where she was involved in several dramatic plots – including causing Fatboy Chubb's death and the historical murder of her husband.
After leaving EastEnders, Ellen took on the lead role in stage show The Hotel Cerise, which ran at The Theatre Royal Stratford East in London.
News of Ellen's casting follows on from Digital Spy's exclusive announcement that another ex-EastEnders star – Shaheen Jafargholi – is joining Casualty as new nurse Marty.
Shaheen, who played murdered Walford teen Shakil Kazemi, has already started filming with the BBC medical drama, with his first scenes airing later this autumn.
Casualty will kick off its new series on Saturday, August 11 at 9.10pm on BBC One.
