Neighbours is gearing up to introduce soap fans to Elly Conway's estranged half-sister Beatrix 'Bea' Nilsson – and they're bringing a huge Australian music star in too.

Australia's Got Talent winner Bonnie Anderson has joined the soap as a new regular, playing wild child Bea who's introduced as Elly's (Jodi Anasta) half-sister – and Neighbours' matriarch Susan Kennedy's (Jackie Woodburne) niece – in Bonnie's first major acting role.

Bea and Elly have a tempestuous history, and Bea's unexpected arrival leaves Elly fearing that her life if about to be turned upside down as Bea brings with her a dark past and a very familiar looking boyfriend.

Bonnie shot to fame after winning the first season of Australia's Got Talent back in 2007 when she was just 12 years old, and has previously toured Australia with UK The X Factor star Olly Murs too.

"I do pinch myself, this is an amazing job to have, even though I started filming in February, it still feels surreal being on set, seeing how it all happens and being a part of it," Bonnie said.

"To be able to show a different side of me, and work on characters is really fun and I am really lucky to be here."

Neighbours executive producer Jason Herbison added: "We were so impressed with Bonnie when we first met her that we created the character of 'Bea' especially for her. She is a true talent and a perfect fit for Neighbours – I can't wait to see what the future holds."

Bonnie's first episode of Neighbours airs on Channel 5 in the UK on Friday, May 18.

Neighbours reveals newcomer Bea's first scenes as her arrival shocks Elly Conway.

Elly's sister is here to stay!

Neighbours has revealed a first look at Elly Conway's sister Beatrix making her arrival in Erinsborough.

Show bosses have just announced the casting of Aussie singer Bonnie Anderson in the role of Beatrix, who's a new regular for the show.

Beatrix – or Bea for short – makes her first appearance on Friday, May 18, when Elly is shocked to realise that she's in the area.

Elly (Jodi Anasta) is thrown when she spots a familiar-looking girl across the Lassiter's complex and decides to follow her.

In the end, Elly loses sight of the new arrival – but it's not long until she'll be reunited with Bea properly.

At the weekend, it was revealed that Bea's arrival will spark some big new storylines as she has a tempestuous history with Elly, which could turn the Ramsay Street schoolteacher's life upside down.

With Bea's dark past and a very familiar looking boyfriend, viewers can be assured that Bea's arrival will be anything but quiet.

Bonnie said recently: "I do pinch myself, this is an amazing job to have. Even though I started filming in February, it still feels surreal being on set, seeing how it all happens and being a part of it. To be able to show a different side of me and work on characters is really fun and I am really lucky to be here."

Watch out, Ramsay Street residents – Finn Kelly is back in town! And it seems he's already up to his conniving ways.

The disgraced teacher (Rob Mills) has returned to Erinsborough with new girlfriend Beatrix (Bonnie Anderson).

It can't be a coincidence that Bea is actually Elly's (Jodi Anasta) half-sister.

Returning to Ramsay Street after years on the streets, Bea is hoping to reunite with her estranged family. And while Elly welcomes her sibling with open arms, Bea is reluctant to open up.

"Bea wants to be close with her family, but she can't be, because she has no trust," Neighbours newcomer Bonnie, 23, tells TV WEEK.

"She's been let down too many times."

Hoping to bond, Elly plans a day of quality time with Bea. But the younger Conway appears resentful of the relationships Elly has formed with the Kennedys and even Xanthe.

In another ominous sign, it's clear Finn has quite a hold on Bea.

We last saw Finn being led off to a prison hospital. Viewers may remember the manipulative teacher plotting to steal Susan's (Jackie Woodburne) job as school principal.

When his dastardly plan to swap Susan's MS medication for painkillers was thwarted, Finn tried to flee to Hong Kong, with an infatuated Xanthe in tow.

But the pair were pulled off the plane by police before they could get away.

Finn's undoing came when Xanthe managed to record his confession before he suddenly collapsed. Finn was taken to hospital and diagnosed with a life-threatening brain aneurysm.

Now, as Bea returns from her reunion to debrief with her boyfriend, the young brunette looks to be wrapped around Finn's finger.

"She's got a heart of gold, she really has," Bonnie says. "And when she loves, it's all-in or nothing with her. It's very obvious with her relationship."

But we soon discover there's more to their romance than meets the eye when Bea calls Finn "Patrick".

Bea really has no idea who her boyfriend is. So what is Finn up to?

Neighbours fury as Bea Nilsson feels betrayed by Elly Conway again
Mark Brennan inadvertently sparks a row between the sisters

http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/news/a862694/neighbours-spoilers-bea-nilsson-elly-conway-dyslexia/

Neighbours'Bea Nilsson is left outraged next week as her sister Elly Conway spreads the word that she may have dyslexia.

Bea (Bonnie Anderson) finds herself the centre of attention as Elly tries to support her following the recent dramas with their mum Liz.

Elly (Jodi Anasta) is determined to show Bea that they're a united force from now on, but she crosses the line after taking a peek at some of the written work she's been doing for her vocational course.

Through reading the work, Elly spots that Bea might have dyslexia and decides to discreetly share the information with her sibling's boss Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor).

Mark then tries to help in his own way by making concessions for Bea at the garage, but she's embarrassed when she realises what's going on.

Later on, Bea angrily confronts Elly in the middle of the school courtyard – with a number of the students watching on. Elly is mortified as Bea furiously demands that she should stay out of her business from now on.

Elly does later apologise for overstepping the mark and tries to be there for Bea in a less intrusive way, but Bea is still unsure how to relate to her big sister and continues to isolate herself.

However, with word that Bea will soon start dating Ned Willis, could he be the unexpected source of support that she really needs right now?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Tuesday, August 7 and Wednesday, August 8 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.

Neighbours fire drama sees Bea Nilsson's life hang in the balance
Mel causes chaos when she commits arson.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a26265772/neighbours-spoilers-bea-nilsson-fire-drama/

Neighbours lines up a life-or-death situation for Bea Nilsson next week as she gets caught up in a fire at the garage.

Bea (Bonnie Anderson) looks set to pay the price for Mel Lohan's scheming as the ruthless newcomer commits arson to get her own way.

Viewers know that Mel (Jacqui Purvis) wants Lucas Fitzgerald to sell the garage to Robinson Pines, leaving a question mark hanging over Bea's job.

Next week, Bea's anxiety grows when there's a sudden spate of cancellations at the business, which could scare Lucas into going ahead with the sale.

Another issue is Bea's new boss Heath being unusually hands-off, but she realises there may be more to this than meets the eye when she discovers that he's actively turning away work.

Unsure of who to trust and determined not to lose her job without a fight, Bea pulls an all-nighter to help turn around the garage's fortunes.

This coincides with Mel changing tactics in her scheming against the garage, sneaking inside and starting a fire.

Mel has no idea that Bea is on site, enjoying a power nap in a van as she takes a break from her long night shift.

Will Bea wake up and notice the flames before it's too late?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Friday, February 22 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Exclusive: Neighbours star Bonnie Anderson teases trouble for Bea and Ned
Will Finn drive them apart?

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a27191732/neighbours-spoilers-bonnie-anderson-bea-ned-trouble/

Neighbours star Bonnie Anderson has hinted that Bea Nilsson and Ned Willis could be about to hit the rocks.

The couple's relationship will run into a number of problems over the coming weeks, thanks to the ongoing presence of seemingly-reformed villain Finn Kelly.

As we've already revealed, Finn is about to move into the Kennedys' home after escaping a prison sentence for his many crimes.

Unsurprisingly, Finn's arrival on Ramsay Street doesn't go down well with Ned, who will grow increasingly possessive of Bea as a result.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Bonnie – who plays Bea – said: "There is a lot going on in her relationship with Ned because he is being very controlling and he's taking things a bit too far. She just wants to be her own person.

"Ned loves her so much and doesn't want her to be hurt, but he is power-tripping and he's very controlling. She doesn’t like Finn much at all – she has no feelings for him whatsoever but she is aware he has feelings for her and feels very uncomfortable. She is almost being pushed closer to Finn because of the way Ned is acting. "

Bonnie added: "There's definitely trouble ahead. They are butting heads at the moment because he is really just trying to take over her life with the controlling stuff.

"It's really annoying for Bea as she's been through it all before with Finn. She has explained to him so many times that she is a fully capable grown woman. It starts to hurt Bea because she starts to think that he doesn't believe she is capable of fending for herself.

"Ned says one thing to her but then goes out of his way to make things worse. There is definitely trouble but I hope they work through things. They love each other very much, so we will see."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

I actually really dislike her voice and tend to skip all the scenes she sings in. I hope she ends up with Finn and he stays good. Finn is actually really likeable as nice Finn. I also hate Ned at the moment he is such a Neanderthal it winds me up. "Bea he is evil this, Bea he is evil that, Bea I don't want to make the decision for you but seriously if you don't choose what I think is right I am gunna hit someone again" like bugger off Ned! Let Bea make her on decisions and stick with her through them or go away.

Neighbours horror for Bea Nilsson as Finn Kelly's creepy fan returns
Alfie is back and this time, he's stealing clothes.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a28541341/neighbours-bea-nilsson-finn-kelly-creepy-fan-alfie/

Neighbours hasn't seen the last of Finn Kelly's creepy stalker.

Finn (Rob Mills) last came face to face with Alfie when he aggressively lashed out at him after finding him in the Kennedy house, but it looks like it hasn't deterred his 'fan' from visiting again.

During an evening in with Bea Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson), the pair emerge from the bedroom to find all their clothing, which they had discarded during a cheeky game of strip tease, has vanished.

Naturally rather creeped out by the thought someone has been in the house, things start to get weirder for Finn when he begins to receive mysterious phone calls.

Then, Alfie is spotted creeping back into the Kennedys' backyard to steal more of Finn's clothes, where he tries to escape unnoticed, but Bea sees him and tackles him to the ground.

Alfie reveals that he is intent on studying Finn's every move in order to get the full story about him out there.

However, Bea fears going to the police about this latest break-in and Alfie's threat could lead to the truth about Finn's previous assault of Alfie coming out and him getting into trouble, so she's reluctant to report it.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours to air shock confession after Finn Kelly's island terror
The aftermath continues.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a31895945/neighbours-spoilers-confession-bea-elly-finn/

Neighbours will see a surprising confession following Finn Kelly's island terror.

In scenes airing next week, Bea Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson) is released from hospital and tries to move on from the horrifying events on the island, but struggles as she is reminded of Finn in the Kennedy house.

Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta) then chooses to come clean to Bea about her feelings for Finn, which stuns Bea.

Karl and Susan Kennedy offer Bea support over Elly's betrayal, but Bea is even more hurt when she finds out that Susan knew about Elly and Finn's feelings for each other.

Bea feels like she can't trust anyone at a time when she needs support the most...

Finn's reign of terror during Neighbours: Endgame claimed two lives this past week, with Prue Wallace and then Gary Canning both killed by the villain.

In addition to Elly's shock confession to Bea, next week will also see other characters dealing with the aftermath including Sheila Canning lashing out at Susan following Gary's death.

Elsewhere, David Tanaka will be shocked by what's happened and will feel guilt over not realising that Finn's memories had returned.

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours’ Bonnie Anderson wants Bea’s dad to be introduced
"It would be cool to explore that," says the star

https://www.radiotimes.com/news/soaps/neighbours/2020-04-15/neighbours-bonnie-anderson-bea-dad/

Bea Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson) will soon be left with one less relative on Ramsay Street when big sister Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta) leaves Neighbours in what is promised to be a dramatic exit storyline.

Though the musical mechanic still has Auntie Susan and Uncle Karl Kennedy, there’s one relative we’re yet to meet that the actress is keen to introduce so we can explore her character’s backstory – Bea’s long-lost father.

“We have never met her dad,” Anderson told RadioTimes.com in an exclusive interview. “He is out there somewhere – he’s this Swedish guy, I believe his name is Lars. I’m not sure if I look Swedish but there you go!”

Fans know the mysterious Lars had a tumultuous relationship with Bea’s flighty mum Liz that ended far from amicably. Liz then turned on her offspring as she was a painful reminder of her ex, causing damage to the mother/daughter dynamic that is still healing many years later.

Bringing daddy dearest into the already-fractured family has the potential to bring shedloads of drama for troubled Bea, who’s feud with her mum was so bad she ended up leaving home in her teens and living on the streets.

What really went on between Liz and Lars? Anderson – and no doubt many viewers – would love to know…

“It would be cool to explore that part of her past, I’d love it,” continues Anderson, who has been in Neighbours since 2018. “Although there are no plans yet. Hopefully Liz will return at some point, she comes in and out and I love working with Debra Lawrance who plays her. Liz always mucks things up for the family!

“There is still lots more for Bea to do after Elly leaves, though that will be very sad – for Bea and for Bonnie, as Jodi is like a real-life sister to me.”

Elly is currently under suspicion of murdering evil ex Finn Kelly, who Bea also had a rocky romance with. Despite the betrayal and Finn’s manipulations, the sisters have put the past behind them, but the dramatic plot has paved the way for Elly’s departure which airs in the coming months – and is a closely-guarded secret.

“Elly’s exit is very emotional,” teases Anderson. “The reason why she leaves is because its whats best for her and baby Aster. But that’s all I can tell you for now!”

Yep, and being unreasonably upset when they do something she doesn't like. Digital Spy article - Bonnie/Bea leaving Neighbours mid-year:

Neighbours star Bonnie Anderson confirms exit from Bea Nilsson role
Bea will be leaving Ramsay Street later this year.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a35576333/neighbours-bonnie-anderson-bea-nilsson-exit/

Neighbours will be saying goodbye to Bea Nilsson later this year, as actress Bonnie Anderson has confirmed that she is leaving the soap after three years in the role.

Bonnie has told Australian newspaper the Sunday Herald Sun that she will soon be departing Ramsay Street, with Bea's final scenes expected to air in mid-2021. No details about her exit plot have yet been revealed.

"I was like a pig in mud at that place," she said of her time on the soap. "Neighbours really changed my life for the better in so, so many ways. I feel like at the age I was, 23, when I joined the show it has really shaped me into the person that I am today.

"I have overcome a lot, I have grown and I am proud of the way I live my life. It was really good to have that structure and now after 3? years on that show I have decided it is time for me to continue challenging myself and create space to focus on my music and songwriting and more acting."

Bonnie, who rose to fame at the age of 12 after winning Australia's Got Talent in 2007, also gave fans a hint about what she'll be getting up to after leaving Erinsborough, saying that she wants to "try different things" in her career.

"I don't want to stick with just one thing," she said. "I am ready to spread my wings. I am ready to fly. First up, it is going to be nice to get into the studio and write some songs and put them out there."

During her time on Neighbours Bonnie had the opportunity to sing the soap's iconic theme song and secured a Logie Award nomination for Most Popular New Talent, while she has also been involved in a number of big storylines as Bea.

Bea's latest plot has seen her being put in serious danger after she was accidentally poisoned by a pie containing death cap mushrooms made by Roxy Willis (Zima Anderson), who had been unaware that she was using a toxic ingredient in her cooking.

Having eaten a whole pie containing the dangerous mushrooms, Bea collapsed and was taken to hospital. After finding out about Bea's condition Roxy and Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan), who thought they had got rid of all the dangerous pies, were guilt-stricken and vowed to confess the truth.

But when Bea regained consciousness, her words stopped Roxy and Kyle from revealing the truth...

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and weekdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Feels like she's run out of things to do since the major Finn storyline. She doesn't even go to work anymore.

Neighbours' Bonnie Anderson has finished filming her final scenes.

The Bea Nilsson star, who announced her exit from the Ramsay Street soap a couple of weeks ago, shared a behind-the-scenes picture on Instagram on her last day.

"End of an era," she captioned the post. "This dressing gown has kept me warm for three and a half years."

Many of her co-stars also left sweet messages, with Zima Anderson (Roxy Willis) and Ben Hall (Ned Willis) among those wishing her well on their Instagram Stories.

Meanwhile, Takaya Honda (David Tanaka) wrote on social media: "I can't believe this wonderful human being is leaving us at @neighbours! I have so much love for you @bonnieandersonmusic and am so excited for your next steps."

Bonnie's final scenes are expected to air over the next few months.

Explaining her decision to leave, she said that she was looking forward to focusing more on music and new acting projects, adding: "I don't want to stick with just one thing. I am ready to spread my wings. I am ready to fly."

She also described the soap as a life-changing experience.

"[It] really changed my life for the better in so, so many ways," she explained. "I feel like at the age I was, 23, when I joined the show, it has really shaped me into the person that I am today."

No details have been shared yet over how the character will exit, but it does seem like Bea and Levi's blossoming relationship will have to come to an end.

Bea's most recent major storyline saw her hospitalised after eating a poisoned pie containing death cap mushrooms.

Bonnie isn't the only star leaving, with Sharon Johal (Dipi Rebecchi) also announcing her exit in recent weeks.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Digital Spy article. It was Bea's (& Shiela #2) last episode last night in Aust:

Neighbours airs Bea Nilsson's exit scenes as Bonnie Anderson bows out
It's the end of an era for the Kennedys.

Neighbours spoilers follow from Australian episodes, which some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Neighbours has aired Bonnie Anderson's final scenes in the role of Bea Nilsson on Australian screens.

Monday's episode on 10 Peach in Australia saw Bea depart Ramsay Street for new adventures ? but she didn't go alone.

Recent episodes on Australian screens, which are currently four weeks ahead of the UK, have seen Bea break up with her boyfriend Levi Canning.

Although Levi was heartbroken and believed there was still a chance for them to work things out, Bea was adamant that the split was for the best.

Now single and looking to the future, Bea decided to leave on a road trip with the new Sheila Canning after striking up a friendship with her.

Bea shared heartfelt farewells with the Kennedys, her ex-boyfriend Ned Willis and close friend Yashvi Rebecchi before making her departure. She also wrote an emotional letter to Levi.

The new Sheila, meanwhile, had dramas of her own to resolve before she left.

As Sheila had recently given some advice to Bea, the Ramsay Street Cannings mistakenly blamed her for Bea wanting to end things with Levi.

Sheila 1 considered holding a grudge by refusing to say goodbye to her namesake, but eventually realised she was wrong and thanked Sheila 2 for her recent friendship.

Sheila 2 also had to explain her recent romantic link with Ned after Yashvi found out about their spark. Both Sheila and Ned assured Yashvi that nothing happened between them beyond an emotional connection.

In real life, Bonnie Anderson announced her departure from Neighbours in February.

Speaking to the Sunday Herald Sun at the time, Bonnie explained: "Neighbours really changed my life for the better in so, so many ways.

Shareena Clanton played the role of Sheila for a guest stint. After finishing filming, she revealed her experiences of racism on set, which are now being investigated.

Neighbours' UK fans will see Bea and Sheila leave on June 21 on Channel 5.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and weekdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours confirms Bonnie Anderson's return for final episode
Since she does the theme tune, you might say she never left.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a40095740/neighbours-bonnie-anderson-finale-return/

Neighbours has confirmed that another former star is returning for the final ever episode.

Bonnie Anderson played Bea Nilsson for two years starting in 2018, before returning to music, taking part in Britain's Got Talent: The Champions, and winning the second Australian season of The Masked Singer.

Her version of the Neighbours theme tune is being used as the current one for the soap.

Digital Spy can confirm that Bea is returning to reunite with Elly Conway, her sister (played by Jodi Gordon).

The hour-long final ever episode, which is set to air on August 1, will see more than 20 returning characters head back to Ramsay Street for a celebration of the show, including legendary faces like Harold Bishop (Ian Smith), Scott Robinson (Jason Donovan) and Charlene (Kylie Minogue).

Reflecting on returning to the soap that first made her a household name when she was just a teenager, Kylie said: "It was lovely and emotional. Driving into Ramsay Street was quite something.

"Firstly, where's all that time gone? Secondly, everything looks exactly the same. Thirdly, Scott, Charlene, Jane, Harold ? it all just came flooding back. There was a lot of talking about memories and going back in time."

There's plenty of speculation about what will happen in the last ever episode, but executive producer Jason Herbison (who wrote the finale) has said that not everything has managed to leak just yet.

"I'm pleased to say that I haven't seen anyone guess what happens yet," he told Digital Spy exclusively, "though the final scene would be hard to guess!"

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 6pm on Channel 5 and streams on My5. In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 6.30pm on 10 Peach and streams on 10 Play.
