Derek was in analytical mood this morning, looking into Science's character and having a little bitch about Vanessa for good measure.

"He's a kid," Derek said of Science. "He'd like to feel part of some sort of group. He can't operate as a sole trader, because basically he's very insecure."

Derek was not impressed by what he saw as Science's attempts to curry favour with the rest of House last night, when Anthony, Maxwell and Craig won some alcohol for filling a jug with their own hair.

"They won the award. Science goes to get the basket despite the fact he had absolutely nothing to do with the reward," he said. "'I'm not going to do this, I'm not going to do this'. It was all about him."

Eugene agreed. "With the haircutting task, if he hadn't said 'I'm not going to have my hair cut', no one would have considered it."

"He actually had bugger all to do with the task. He can't share in a group task," said Derek, who couldn't have contributed much hair himself. "Yet he tries to make himself appear like a victor. Comes to the bedroom, 'I've got wine and booze'. Then he dishonestly takes a few bottles and surreptitiously hides them."

Derek was still up when most were in bed and witnessed Science who "then appears with the extra drink and gives it to Max. And this was the man he'd never speak to".

After dealing with Science, Derek moved on to Vanessa. "Vanessa's the other one who's done very little," he said.

Derek said that the first time Vanessa got involved with a group task or the domestic duties within the House was when she was a Holiday Rep. "And she hated it."

"She's a very nice person but..." said Eugene by way of tempering Derek's criticism. And Derek conceded she was only nineteen.

But that shouldn't get in the way of a good bitch.
