It's a boy if:

You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute
You are carrying the extra weight out in front
Your belly looks like a basketball
Your areola have darkened considerably
You are carrying low
You are craving salty or sour foods
You are craving protein - meats and cheese
Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy
The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy
Your hands are very dry
Your pillow faces north when you sleep
Dad-to-be is gaining weight too
Pregnancy has you looking better than ever
Your urine is a bright yellow in colour
Your nose is spreading
If you hang your wedding ring over your belly, it moves in circles
You are having headaches
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived the number is even
It's a girl if:

You had morning sickness early in pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute
You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear
Your left breast is larger than your right breast
Your hair gets red highlights
You are carrying high
Your belly looks like a watermelon
You crave sweets
You crave fruit
You crave orange juice
You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy
You are moodier than usual during pregnancy
Your face breaks out more than usual
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread
Your breasts have really blossomed!
Your pillow faces south when you sleep
Your urine is a dull yellow in colour
If you hang your wedding ring over your belly, it moves from side to side
If you add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived the number is odd

your going to ask then? i couldnt wait to find out either, make sure you tell us :)Definitely finding out! Mark 28th July in your diaries and look out for the new thread either same day or next!! My gut feeling at the mo is going with a girl, but its probably major wishful thinking!

All of the old wives tales suggest a girl though and the chinese gender chart, lunar version says girl, although others non lunar ones say boy.....its 50/50!!

I used to work 15 miles away, where I was born, but moved out here, gave up work and lost touch with most people. Working from home is great on one side, but isolating on the other!

I've been at home for 3 1/2 years now and working from home for a year of that. In some respects its the best of both worlds, as I am at with Ci and enjoying him, watching him grow etc, which I missed with Ste, but at the same time, because I am working, I don't get out that much. Plus, for some reason, a lot of the mums here tend to see toddler groups at the place for letting their kids run riot whilst they sit on the sidelines and chat, ignoring what is going on around them. The number of kids that hit each other or bite etc and their parents aren't watching what they are doing - I rather wouldn't put Ci through that. At least I get the 2 1/2 hours twice a week when Ci is at pre-school! But then I spend that time on here

This may be an old fish wives tale but it worked for me. You can tell the sex of your baby by its heartbeat. If it sounds like a racehorse then its a girl, if it sounds like a train the its a boy.

Jojo
09-07-2005, 15:08
How can you tell the difference?? Sorry if I am being a bit daft!

When you go to the ante-natal clinic and the midwife listens to the baby's heartbeat you can tell by the sound of the heartbeat. If the heartbeat sounds like horses galloping then you are having a girl if the heartbeat sounds like a train it's a boy

All I can remember from last visit was that it was 155 bpm! Didn't really sound like either of those.

anyone ever tried the ring test to see if you are having a boy or girl??

you put your ring on a piece of thread and hold it over your belly!! after a while it should move either side to side or round!!

i think it is round for a girl and side to side for a boy!!

when my mum tried it on me it sid i was having a boy but i was convinced it was a girl! and i ended up having a boy!!

Debs

My other half says he can also tell what sex the baby is by looking to see if he can see some bone on the babys forhead which boys have but girls dont! he got it right for us, my sister and my mate!!!!

could be just licky guesses though!

Jojo

I did the ring test with my first and it was right - I can never which way round it is supposed to be though!! I might try that one later and see if its right!

Jojo
