The son has to be Tyler ,would explain why Russell hit him as he reminded him of the affair. And it opens the door for Tyler's real father to come into the show.

Having the Jack & Steph storyline shoved down my throat makes me very uncomfortable.
Not every character needs a new romance every few weeks.

TV Week has the following Neighbours plot teaser for the week 14th - 18th August:

Danger In Reverse. An Anger-Fuelled Accident Is Bad News For Tyler.

In a terrible case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Tyler finds himself the victim of a shocking accident in Neighbours this week.

Things go downhill when Mishti (Scarlet Vas) tries to help out her friend Amy (Zoe Cramond). She's been having issues with her half-brother, Leo (Tim Kano).

When Mishti runs into Leo at The Shed, it doesn't take long before the pair get into a heated argument.

Sick of fighting, Mishti storms off and jumps into her car.

"Mishti is trying to leave quickly because she's angry and upset," Travis, who plays Tyler, tells TV WEEK.

Mishti starts reversing, but forgets to check her blind spot.

"She's not looking behind her," Travis explains. "Unfortunately, as he rushes out of the gym, Tyler isn't looking either - they collide with a lot of force."

The impact of the collision knocks Tyler unconscious. Has Mishti's anger-fuelled mistake left him seriously injured?

Radiotimes.com article on Tyler's accident etc:

Neighbours: shock death rocks the Brennans next week

Life will never be the same for Tyler, Aaron and Mark

Neighbours' Brennan boys take centre stage next week when they receive the devastating news that their father Russell has passed away - but his death brings to light a secret from the past that will rock the family... and when grieving Tyler is then run over, is there more tragedy ahead?

Fay reveals to her estranged sons that Russell has had a heart attack and is asking to see his kids in person. Struggling with their conflicted feelings towards their flawed dad, the boys face a difficult decision - but sadly it's one they don't have to make in the end as the tragic news comes from Port Lincoln that Russell has died.

Tyler blames himself for deliberating over whether to visit, as he didn't feel ready to confront his father since his childhood abuse was exposed, and thinks he denied his siblings the chance to say goodbye and make their peace.

Reeling with grief, tormented Tyler runs from the Shed - straight into the path of Mishti Sharma, who runs over the mixed-up mechanic as she's distracted by her own emotional issues following a fight with Leo Tanaka.

Aaron races to his brother's aid as he goes flying off the boot of the car - luckily Tyler's injuries aren't life-threatening, but the incident only adds to the Brennan broods' difficult week.

However, unbeknown to the buff brothers, Fay confides in Sheila Canning the truth about Russell's final words - 'Memory Cove'. Far from being a happy recollection of a place he remembers from childhood as his sons assume, Fay reveals the secret behind the location: it's actually where Fay confessed to her ex years ago she'd had an affair that resulted in her getting pregnant with one of the boys, which marked the beginning of the end for their marriage...

So which of the lads isn't actually a Brennan? Who is their real father? And why has Fay entrusted this important information to Sheila, the biggest gossip in Erinsborough?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 August on Channel 5 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm

Dee or Andrea? Didn't feel like Andrea to me tho.

Such a strange almost surreal scene. With Toad and Sonya still dealing with Toad's betrayal it would be cruel to bring her back. Unless somehow it helps the healing process and brings them back together.

Definitely Dee. She's alive and moved on with a new guy and is still thinking about Toadie. The fact that they also flashed to her after Sonya said Toadie needs to get over Dee is telling too.

Hopefully she turns up as Dee - no one will believe her, but it will give Toadie closure and will help bring Sonya/Toadie back together. So I can see her turning up!

I agree it was quite strange.

What next ?

Terese's kids actaully come back and see how she is going with Breast Cancer?

Billy and Libby come back and see how their mother and father have been ?

Toadies brother actually works ?

Toadie actually has a court case and works ?

Paul's kids visit him ?

Where does Jack work ?

This show is going downhill , and now actual Dee returns? Will she have a kid called Pillow that is tricked into being Toadies fake kid , then moves back like his kid ?

Where is Lou?

The credits said "special appearance by Madeleine West"
I don't think it would have said that if she was supposed to be Andrea.

Sounds like it's very likely to be Dee. I expect Toad and Sonya to be somewhat skeptical :)

Agreed. But as Dee's supposed to be dead it would be a rather big spoiler to have the characters name in the credits - unless it was all a dream of course!

The scenes with the Brennan boys grieving over their fathers death were heartbreaking and so well done. So sad that he died alone before they could see him. Especially for Tyler who blames himself for not going to see him earlier. Of course all of this made even more sad as the actor who played Russell recently died

November last year Russell Kiefel died, I don't get why they had to bring him back at all, why kill him off, he wasn't a regular character, so why do that. Just bring in mum if they really feel the need for a parent role all of a sudden, with no mention of the fact he has died.

I think killing off a character who has died in real life serves a purpose .. fans of the show are also able to mourn for the character now rather than having to accept you will never see them again for no reason ..
