View Full Version : Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni)
Coronation Street teen Faye Windass looks set to be drawn into a dark life of crime by her tearaway boyfriend Seb Franklin.
Brand new pictures show the young lovers getting embroiled in a car scam – but it's Faye who could end up paying the price when they get caught out.

Upcoming scenes will see bad boy Seb encouraging his girlfriend to steal a car with him – only to do a runner when the owner catches them in the act.
These images offer a sneak peak into the dramatic events, which will see Seb leave a nervous Faye behind in the car to take the blame. Charming!

Fans will have to wait and see whether Faye manages to talk herself out of trouble, but there could be big repercussions if her mum Anna finds out what she's been up to.
Anna has never endorsed her daughter's relationship with Seb, worried about his violent temper after he brutally attacked Jackson Hodge – who is the father of Faye's baby daughter Miley.
But with Faye seemingly heading down a dangerous route as she continues her romance with Seb, are Anna's worst fears about to be confirmed?

They do actually
Do we know anything about Seb's parents, what if Tim was also his dad
Says online he has contracted HIV from his tattoos :(
Coronation Street 'planning' its first HIV storyline for Seb Franklin
The Terrence Higgins Trust is apparently being consulted.
Following its success with the Bethany Platt grooming and award-winning Michelle Connor baby loss storylines this year, Coronation Street looks set to tackle another important issue.
The ITV show is working on a groundbreaking storyline that will see Seb Franklin (as played by Harry Visinoni) diagnosed with HIV in hopes of raising awareness about the issue, according to The Sun.
Seb will apparently learn that he is HIV+ in scenes to air in October, leaving him, girlfriend Faye Windass (Ellie Leach) and their close friends and family having to come to terms with this news.
Coronation Street has reportedly consulted with the Terrence Higgins Trust, one of the UK's best-known sexual health advocacy and charity groups, to ensure that its depiction of an HIV+ person is authentic.
A spokesperson for Coronation Street is declining to comment on the reported storyline at this stage. This would be the first time that Coronation Street has directly tackled HIV for a major character.
Rival soap EastEnders memorably spotlighted the struggle faced by those living with HIV as part of a storyline exit for Mark Fowler (Todd Carty ), whose character succumbed to an AIDS-related illness off-screen in 2004.
Current Corrie producer Kate Oates also previously explored the issue of HIV through the character Val Pollard during her years running fellow ITV soap Emmerdale.
Wish Seb could have been rescued from his life as a young carer and onto better things and some happiness. So not happy with this stpryline. Plus it means more Faye scenes.

I wonder will his parents ever be brought in to the show
what age is seb, should he and the twins be in school, will anna become foster parent to them all?

Seb must be school leaver age to be given the apprenticeship by Phelan so I would guess 16. Hope Anna is not going to foster them all with her leaving soon :(

so twins taken to care but not seb, he is of age to live alone
harry who plays seb is a great little actor
If she knew Seb may be HIV she should have done something about it as she knew he had a girlfriend. I know she is not parent of the year but still no excuses to wreck anyone elses lives. Hopefully Faye will be ok.
I wonder if he's 17 now as I think that's the age you can no longer be taken into care. His apprenticeship started a while ago so he could have been 16 at that time. Under 18 (or is it 21? - the minimum age to adopt) he wouldn't be able to care for the twins.
Did Seb's mum know he had a girlfriend? Faye hadn't been to the house before the last episodes. Not sure if he ever introduced Anna as his girlfriend's mother?
There was a needle in the last epidode I think so I wonder if Seb will try to clean the house shortly and end up pricking himself with it.
i thought his hiv was from the tattoo he got for faye, does the mam know about the tattoo or is she thinking he got hiv from an ex girlfriend
how did seb's mam and twins manage when he was banged up?
is their a dad or step dad or boyfriend?

Doubt the writers have even considered how they coped without Seb, the family feel like they were an afterthought when they decided to keep Seb around and do the storyline.
Haven't heard that with regards to how he gets/got HIV, but we'll find out on screen soon enough.
I don't think a Dad has been mentioned, we don't even know if the twins are Seb's full siblings or half.

I think he accidentally stabs himself on a needle in his home, probably left by his mother but, as you say, we will find out for sure soon
In the newspaper it says he got it from an ex girlfriend. But the tatoo or needle sounds more realistic. But corrie producers choose to stay away from reality.
He must already have it. As he's now fallen off of a ladder, he's not going to be doing any cleaning in a hurry. Plus it would have to be caused something that happened before he slept with Faye (as it sounds like she gets tested too.)

You're forgetting an important point here. This is Coronation Street. He will be up and about in 2 or 3 days max.
Or a miracle cure like Sinaed. I suppose Chesneys panic attacks will have gone with his new responsibilities/storyline.

It's just a rumour as far as I'm aware. If true, it would have to be via Jenny's side (Faye's birth mother) as Tim surely would have said something if it was on his side. Tim didn't know Jenny that well did he, so it would be possible from her side.
I doubt it myself. Seb's HIV is a massive, original storyline (EastEnders did it with Mark, but then he was older and it was sexually transmitted, rather than the (less common?) needle route which this seems to be headed down.) I thought they were supposed to be casting Tim's mother also. On top of that there's Gina's debt collectors and the Garry stuff for the Windasses / Metcalfe's so surely they don't need to be going the sensationalist route and adding incest on top. Sensationalism is more an Eastenders / Hollyoaks trait than a Coronation Street one I think.
Can a mod move to the Coronation Street forum please, as this is the EastEnders one.

When did Seb and Faye move to Walford. I must have missed that important development....
I think you end up with characters looking similar sometimes as the casting directors just like a particular look. I have seen so many other characters looking similar to each other so i would not read too much into it.
Remember the woman at the service station who Bethany approached. Many said that was real life Fayes sister.
Remember the woman at the service station who Bethany approached. Many said that was real life Fayes sister.
Must have missed that one. Then we had Tina McIntyre is back from the dead as a news reporter.
Ellie Leach who plays Faye is the real life cousin of Brooke Vincent who plays Sophie. I would not have guessed they were related. Some relatives look alike and some don't.
Incest on a certain level is common in soaps these days, though I don't think Coronation Street has had any. Whether it's now or in the future, I'd guess that the next incest storyline will take it to illegal levels.

Yes.
Coronation Street launches a big new storyline tonight (November 3) as teenager Seb Franklin discovers that he's HIV positive.
The ITV soap is aiming to raise awareness and break down stigmas with the new plot, which will explore how Seb comes to terms with his diagnosis and how it affects his relationship with Faye Windass.
Digital Spy recently caught up with young actor Harry Visinoni, who plays Seb, for his reaction to the storyline and new details of what's ahead.
How long have you known this story was coming up for?
"I found out a couple of weeks before I got the scripts with the storyline in. Corrie's producer Kate Oates told me over the phone and we had a bit of a chat about it. Kate was asking me firstly whether I was okay with it. Once she knew that I was, she also told me the overall purpose of the storyline and where they'd be going with it. We met up and talked about it too.
"It was surprising to hear about the storyline, but in a nice way. I'd been warming up with the character for a year, doing bits and bobs here and there. Corrie trusting me with this was a great surprise and I was very grateful. It motivated me to hopefully do it well."
Did you feel the pressure of exploring an issue-based story?
"Yeah, definitely. I was slightly anxious when I first heard about it, but I really wanted to do it justice. That anxiety came from the fact that I didn't know much about HIV, so I had to get my head in the game and find out more, but it's great because I've not been challenged like that before. It's the biggest thing I've done in my career by a mile, really."
Have you done much research?
"Yeah, I've spoken to a few people. I've looked it up online quite a bit too and read some articles. That's helped me to find out what the virus does, what medication can do to combat it, and also the quality of life that Seb would have. All of the information was quite readily available, so it was quite easy to get a grasp of it really quickly.
"I felt like I learned a lot. It was a total surprise to me that you could survive with HIV at all, let alone live well with it, as well as the fact that you can take precautions to have a totally normal sex life and not pass it on to anyone else."
How will Seb cope with his diagnosis?
"I think Seb is shocked initially. He feels that he's constantly getting punched to the corner of the ring and this is the knockout blow. But it's definitely a turning point for Seb with his attitude towards life, and he starts appreciating the people around him.
"While playing the storyline, I decided that Seb would probably know as much as me. I didn't know anything about it, so why would Seb? At first he thinks it's a death sentence, but he slowly realises it's not like that at all. He has his own prejudice towards it, so it's a case of overcoming that. Hopefully the audience will go through the same journey Seb does and come to terms with it like him."
How will this affect Seb's future with Faye?
"Seb and Faye have had a pretty intense relationship for a long time now and this is just another hurdle for them. Their relationship will definitely be tested, because it's a big thing to come to terms with, especially at their age. But they're a stubborn pair of teenagers and I think that will help them to get through it together – almost like an act of defiance."
When you joined Corrie last year, did you always know you'd be sticking around long-term?
"No, I had absolutely no idea! I came in for six months and just kept going. I always kept my fingers crossed they'd want to keep me on for longer and it's unfolded quite nicely for me over the past year. It's still pretty surreal. I'm very blessed to be in the position I'm in right now and I'm very aware of that."
How are the viewers responding to Seb?
"There's been great feedback. It's nice, because a lot of the comments I do get are about my acting and that's really encouraging. Even if someone says Seb is an annoying little teenager, that's cancelled out because people also say I'm performing it well.
"That's genuinely motivating, because it means you can go into work confidently with your head held high. If Seb's liked by the audience, then hopefully he can keep on going in the show.
"It's nice to be able to exercise my skills in different storylines. I've been able to play a vast range just in the year that I've been here. I've been able to do totally vulnerable scenes, but then I've also done a scene where I knocked someone out! I've been given the opportunity to flex my muscles and it's a really good part."
After so many scenes with Phelan, would you like to be involved in his comeuppance?
"Oh, that'd be the cherry on top to be involved in that storyline. Phelan's comeuppance is bound to be very dramatic. If I had a little role in that, that would definitely be one for the showreel, wouldn't it?"

Going to be involved in modern slavery storyline with Alina, the nail salon worker
Slavery horror Seb is set to have a new interest in the form of nail bar worker Alina but when it transpires that she is living in a hovel and being used as a slave, Seb determines to crack the trafficking ring. But he will be horrified when he realises that Jan is involved. ‘This is one of the biggest hidden scandals in the UK today. Our research has shown us that in many towns and cities across Britain, people are being forced to work against their will, living in extreme poverty and in fear for their safety, all so ruthless criminal gangs can get rich at their expense.

Maybe he can join the ranks of Bethany and Gary being dumb enough not to know better, I cannot believe these people always end up in dire straits and they barely leave "The STreet"
Maybe the Street should be renamed to "Fools Alley"!!!
Coronation Street star Harry Visinoni has returned to the set to film new scenes as the late Seb Franklin.
Seb died back in May after he and Nina Lucas were violently attacked by Corey Brent and his gang.
But new paparazzi pictures show Harry and cast members including Mollie Gallagher (Nina), Maximus Evans (Corey), Millie Gibson (Kelly Neelan), and Harriet Bibby (Summer Spellman) shooting flashbacks that will air in the early autumn.
In one photo, Seb and Nina are seen talking a walk before the attack. The second picture shows Corey with his gang, plus Kelly and Summer.
Summer, who feels guilt over what happened that night, left before things turned violent. But Corey and Kelly, both charged, have been blaming each other for Seb's death.
Digital Spy can confirm that these flashbacks will show who was ultimately responsible for Seb's death, and that the cast have been working in a close cohort to film scenes non-socially distanced.
Earlier this year, Maximus shared his hopes for the show to do flashbacks, as the original scenes were affected by the COVID restrictions at the time.
"It was very interesting, because with COVID, we've had to change the way that we work on set ? especially the two metre rule, which is a very vital thing," he said at the time.
"I hope that in the future we do see the full extent of the attack, just to add to that sense of reality and how brutal it truly is."

Yes, let's see how brutal the attack really was. Ideal for a family show before the watershed.
