Max Branning's revenge could step up a gear on EastEnders next week when he receives a visit from the mysterious chairman of Weyland & Co.

Way back in January, viewers saw Max (Jake Wood) have a secret meeting with his boss at the top of The Shard and he's been loyally carrying out his wishes ever since.

Clearly keen to keep a close eye on how things are going, the chairman reappears next week when he turns up on Albert Square to deliver a message to Max.

What news does the chairman have to share with Max and will anyone spot them together? There's still a long way to go with their plans, so they'd better hope they don't arouse too much suspicion...

I just think it is an absolute disgrace the way they have tried to weasel their way out of how Max was treated by Ian and Jane (and others). It will forever remain a stain on Eastenders and the production team(s) that allowed it to happen.

They've become "The Untouchables" ff. Unless Bobby Beale's future parole release changes things. At least Jane can now stand up. Might come in useful for the unlikely event she ever has to stand up in the dock to receive a court sentence for something.

I think the worst thing about all this is making Max into a villain to somehow justify what was done to him. It would have been bad, but not quite so bad, if it had just been left that Max forgave Ian and Jane and they all got on with their lives. But this way it not only justifies what happened to Max but somehow also completely exonerates Ian and Jane.

I think Max should have gone the legal route and sued Ian and Jane and also pursued the police and Phil, got Marcus as his solicitor, reopened the whole case
