Having starred in Neighbours as young heart throb, Stuart Parker, Blair McDonough is no stranger to Australian TV soaps.

The 35-year-old, treated his fans on Instagram by revealing he will be the joining the cast of Home and Away as the newest resident of Summer Bay.

We first met Blair when he finished second place on the first season of Big Brother Australia, which kick stared his career in television.

He has since appeared in a number of British and Australian TV shows, since his farewell on Neighbours in 2006, including Heartbeat, Sea Patrol and Winners & Losers.

It is not yet known when we will see the father-of-one join the Summer Bay favourites, but hopefully it’ll be soon.

Blair McDonough reveals Home and Away secret

FORMER Ramsay Street resident Blair McDonough has let slip that he’s heading to Summer Bay.

The 35-year-old revealed on Instagram that he’s set to appear on Home and Away by posting a photo of a script from the Channel Seven soap with the caption, “Just like riding a bike ... right?! #homeandaway”.

But McDonough seemingly jumped the gun by making the announcement.

No official press release about his upcoming role had been sent out by Channel Seven yet and within an hour of posting the photo, McDonough had deleted the picture.

In a statement to news.com.au, a Channel Seven spokesman later said, “Channel Seven can confirm: Blair McDonough has commenced shooting a guest role on Home and Away”.

McDonough rose to fame after finishing runner-up in the first series of Big Brother Australia back in 2001.

Not long after he joined the cast of Neighbours and started dating fellow cast member, Delta Goodrem.

Since then he’s appeared in TV shows including: Sea Patrol, Winners & Losers and Heartbeat.

McDonough now joins the likes of Guy Pearce, Rebekah Elmaloglou, Bernard Curry and Lincoln Lewis who have also appeared on both Home and Away and Neighbours.

Speaking of people who have appeared on both H&A and Neighbours, there is speculation that Caroline Gillmer, who played Cheryl Stark 'Chezza' in Neighbours in the 1990's has joined Home and Away as a character named 'Peggy' (maybe also a guest role?). Nothing has been officially confirmed, but this speculation started a couple of months ago when someone spotted "2017, Peggy, Home and Away, FremantleMedia" on her CV on her acting agency's website - Mollison Keightley Mgt.

Do any long time Neighbours viewers remember Cheryl Stark?

(EDIT: I have now posted a BTTB article in the "Home and Away (Aus) Spoilers 2017" thread where they have outlined some of the upcoming arrivals & departures)

AFTER living in Hollywood for years, Blair McDonough has returned home to Australia and landed himself a guest role on Home And Away.

The former Big Brother contestant, who is now a husband and dad to two, appeared in a promo for the show last night. He told Confidential that while life in America was "an adventure", it's not for everyone.

The actor, who has also appeared in Neighbours (as Stuart Parker), is now based in Byron Bay.

"I've given up acting like six times. I've thought, I'm done and going to be a builder, but it lures you back in. I do love it and miss it," he said.
