Kemal can often be spotted sat cross-legged, deep in thought and chanting a mysterious mantra. Yesterday he went through this meditation for evictee Saskia, and he dedicated another to Makosi when he feared she would be booted out of the House. But what does it all mean?
Well, the phrase Kemal is repeating is 'nam-myoho-renge-kyo' and it is actually taken from the title of the greatest teaching of Buddha. It can be translated as, 'the teaching of the lotus flower of the wonderful law'. So he wasn't just making it all up after all!
Called the 'Lotus Sutra', the teaching states that all people, even Team Saskia, have the potential within them to attain Buddhahood.
'Within all of us, apparently, is a universal truth known as the 'Buddha Nature' and if we base our lives on this, we will be able to live in absolute happiness and act with unlimited compassion in a blissful state of enlightenment.
Now words like 'compassion' and 'happiness' aren't always associated with the turbulent Big Brother House. But if the teachings are correct, then Kemal's enlightenment should soon spread to his fellow Housemates creating one big happy family.
