It's make or break time for EastEnders couple Lee and Whitney Carter later this month – just in time for Valentine's Day.

The couple have endured a hellish few months and the drama certainly isn't over yet, as Whitney's caring attempts to help Lee (Danny-Boy Hatchard) backfire in upcoming episodes.

Over the next few days, we'll see that Whitney (Shona McGarty) is determined to get Lee's life back on track after his recent troubles, but she faces fresh heartbreak when he doesn't react well to her interference.

When the pair's marriage reaches breaking point as a result of their latest rows, Lee and Whitney hope to put their differences aside when they head out for a romantic Valentine's Day meal.

But as they sit down at the Beales' restaurant, are Lee and Whitney just papering over the cracks? With Lee leaving the show at some point in the near future, we're certainly not expecting a happy ending for them...

Meanwhile, Michelle is disappointed when she arranges to meet an old friend and he doesn't turn up as planned. Jay invites Michelle to join him at Ben for a drink instead.

Elsewhere, Jay is struggling after hearing the results of Roxy's medical report.

Also today, Tina and Donna enjoy a night out together.

Finally, Ian gives Jane an early Valentine's Day present but she isn't impressed by it, while Stacey suggests Carmel should take Arthur to baby yoga.


Tuesday

Whitney and Lee head out for a romantic Valentine's Day meal, but it could be make or break time for their relationship. Which way will it go?

At the same time, Mick and Shirley discuss the Lee and Whitney situation.

Meanwhile, Michelle receives a surprise Valentine's Day card - but that's not the only shock she receives today...

Elsewhere, Bex gets a Valentine's Day card from Shakil and finds a special way to reveal her feelings in return.

Also today, Jack has a request that leaves Billy and Jay stunned.

Finally, Ian surprises Jane with a Valentines meal in their own restaurant, while Stacey and Martin also head out for a date.


Thursday

Hour-long episode

Michelle is happy after the week's events, but not for long as she starts to struggle with her situation.

Later, Michelle attends an interview for a job as a teacher. Will she be successful?

Meanwhile, Shirley and Johnny approach Konrad, the owner of a local store, for help as they make plans for Polish Night at the Queen Vic.

Elsewhere, Shakil finally decides to talk to Bex, but he regrets it when he finds her with Travis. Madison and Alexandra also stir up trouble between Bex and Louise, prompting Louise to confront Bex for going after Travis.

Also today, Jack isn't pleased when Billy opposes his recent request, but Max and Stacey both try to make Jack see sense.

At the same time, the group of students are kicked out of Number 18, so Ben and Jay look at the property. As Kathy is helping out with the deposit, they decide to go for it.

Finally, Dot convinces Ian to go for his health check, but Jane receives some disappointing news at her own check-up.


Friday

The Carters continue to prepare for Polish Night at the Queen Vic, but the family suffer yet another setback when an Environmental Health officer arrives after reports of food poisoning.

Meanwhile, Kim infuriates Denise by suggesting that she could still change her mind about the baby when she attends a meeting about the adoption next week.

Elsewhere, Jack takes Dot for her next round of injections.

Michelle Fowler looks set to get some love back in her life in the latest EastEnders spoiler pictures.

Viewers will discover that Michelle (Jenna Russell) has an admirer when she receives a mystery Valentine's Day card.

Next week's episodes begin on a very sour note for Michelle, as she arranges to meet up with an old friend who fails to show up.

After being awkwardly stood up, Michelle is left with the Mitchells as company for the evening instead, when caring Jay (Jamie Borthwick) invites her over for a drink with him and Ben. Hmm, not quite what she was expecting, we suspect!

The next day, things look up for Michelle when she receives a surprise Valentine's Day card, although EastEnders is keeping us guessing over who sends it.

Michelle confides in her sister-in-law Stacey over the delivery, but does it mean someone on the Square has a crush on her?

Could Michelle's estranged husband be having second thoughts over their split? Or has her teenage lover Preston decided to get in touch? The possibilities are endless...

As the week continues, Michelle receives another shock and finally has something to smile about afterwards, but we're sworn to secrecy on the details.

Michelle is also feeling confident and has a spring in her step when she later heads off for an interview for a job as a teacher.

After being sacked from the last school she was working at in the States, is this the fresh start that Michelle needs? Or will things go wrong for her all over again?
