View Full Version : EastEnders Spoilers 16th - 20th January 2017
Jack Branning faces another heartbreaking day on EastEnders as Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell's funerals take place later this month.
Jack (Scott Maslen) is currently struggling to hold it together after the Mitchell sisters died in a tragic swimming pool accident on New Year's Day.
In the build-up to the pair's send-off, one big question is whether Jack's children Amy and Ricky should attend or not.
With the kids still confused over what's going on, Jack and his loved ones are divided over whether the funerals could help to bring closure or make things worse.
Another tricky issue is who'll take on the responsibility of speaking at the funerals, with Jack left stunned when Phil stubbornly refuses to give a eulogy.
When the day itself arrives, emotions are still running high among everyone and certain residents are struggling to keep their true feelings to themselves.
Amid all the high emotion, will the sisters get the send-off they deserve?

It's Phil's birthday and his presents include a jigsaw of the Queen Vic, which is presented to him by Dennis.
Later, Phil interrupts the celebrations by dropping a bombshell on Sharon. As a result, secrets explode for the Mitchells.
Meanwhile, Jack is still struggling to explain Ronnie and Roxy's deaths to Ricky and Amy.
As Dot and Glenda discuss the situation, Dot suggests that it might be best for Matthew to go off and live with Charlie. Glenda doesn't think it's a good idea and urges Dot not to speak to Charlie about it. But how will Dot and Glenda react when Jack admits just how much he's struggling to cope?

Confiding in Mick, Whitney wonders whether recent events really are her fault and she also reveals what Babe said to her. Mick assures Whitney that she's done nothing wrong, but is there any future for her and Lee?
Meanwhile, Jack continues to plan the funeral. As the kids are still struggling to understand what's going on, Glenda suggests that they shouldn't attend but Jack disagrees.
Jack is also surprised when he asks Phil to speak at the funeral and he refuses. Sharon tries to get to the bottom of why Phil has refused, but he just snaps at her. Later on, Phil receives a suspicious call and heads off to meet someone.

At least the issue of Charlie isn't being totally ignored which is what I feared would happen.

In real life yes, but EE has a tendency to forget inconvenient truths. I'm hoping SOC will rectify this which is why I'm glad that at least Charlie gets a mention.
