There's a huge moment ahead for the Mitchell family on EastEnders later this month as they head to the hospital for a very important update on Phil's future.
Phil has now been sober for an impressive six months (how time flies!), which means that he can now be considered for the liver transplant list.
The good news is confirmed when Phil (Steve McFadden) attends his latest medical appointment, but there's no time for celebration as the doctor adds that he may not get a liver in time because his condition hasn't improved.
Once he's back at home, a downbeat Phil starts to feel that he's undeserving of a new liver anyway and refuses to listen when his loved ones urge him not to give up.
Beginning to crumble under the pressure, Phil tells his family that he's not going to have the tests for the transplant list - instead he's going to face up to his fate and die. Is it really the beginning of the end for Phil Mitchell?

Monday
Phil attends his latest medical appointment and hears that he can now be considered for a liver transplant as he's been sober for the past six months. Unfortunately, the bad news is that his condition hasn't improved and he may not get a liver in time.
Later, once Phil is back home, his family are shocked as he starts to feel that he's undeserving of a new liver anyway and begins to give up hope. When Louise tries to lift Phil's spirits with a special surprise, her efforts backfire as they don't go down as well as she expected.
Reaching a tragic decision, Phil announces that he's not going to have the tests for the transplant - instead he's going to accept his fate and die. Is this the beginning of the end for Phil Mitchell?
Meanwhile, Jack shows Ronnie the property where he wants them to live, but she tells him that she's having second thoughts about their decision to move.
Elsewhere, Patrick takes matters into his own hands by making Dot an appointment to find out what's wrong with her eyes.
Also today, Lee's strange moods leave Whitney fearing that she's done something wrong and she confides in Johnny. She attempts to put the spark back in their relationship but is disappointed when Lee remains cool.
Tuesday
As the Mitchells struggle to accept Phil's decision not to have the transplant, he confides in Billy about why he feels he doesn't deserve a liver. Billy also thinks Phil is making the wrong choice and tries to make him reconsider.
Later, Sharon continues the efforts to convince Phil to change his mind, but will she have any luck?

Meanwhile, Kathy comes up with an idea to help ease the Beale family's growing financial problems. Later, a busy Kathy also auditions for the Christmas show alongside Abi and Patrick.

Also today, Kyle is offered a new job abroad but decides to turn it down because he doesn't want to leave his family in the lurch while they're struggling financially.

Whitney's suspicions grow over Lee's behaviour when he makes excuses to avoid their evening plans with Lauren and Steven. Growing upset, Whitney tells Lauren that Lee has called into work sick and she fears he might be having an affair.
Later, Lee returns home and is oblivious to Whitney's discovery, so he tells her that he's been at work all day. Will this be the final straw for Whitney?
Meanwhile, Billy has another heart-to-heart with Phil.
Elsewhere, Kyle keeps changing his mind over whether to accept the job or not. Will he listen when Ian tells him that it's a great opportunity?
Also today, Ian wishes Kathy luck on her first day back at the cafe.
Friday
Whitney confronts Lee about why he lied over his whereabouts yesterday. How will Lee react?
Meanwhile, an upset Dennis confides in Phil about recent events.
Elsewhere, Dot attends her doctor's appointment, but what news will she receive about her sight?
Also today, roles are handed out for the Christmas play – with Abi breaking the news to Kathy.
