Emmerdale bosses clearly aren't resting on their laurels after killing off Holly Barton.

Just as fans are drying their tears after three highly emotional episodes this week, the show has now revealed that at least one more character will die soon.

Here's your first look at a very intriguing Emmerdale trailer which will have its premiere TV airing today (October 1), hinting at even more tragedy to come for some of our favourite characters.

And the big news is that Emmerdale fan favourites Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle are among those potentially in trouble. Could it really be the end of Robron? Say it ain't so...

Emmerdale's brand new trailer shows some of the village's best-loved residents dancing with a mystical figure.

Why? Well, seemingly to give us a sense of dread, as Emmerdale are teasing us with the big question of who'll be taking their last dance.

It's not just Robert and Aaron in the mix, though - a whole host of other Emmerdale characters feature too.

Rhona Goskirk is in there, but she's certainly not short of company, with her estranged husband Paddy Kirk, new love Pierce Harris and her other ex-partner Marlon Dingle all joining her. Are things about to get even more messy for the foursome?

James Barton and his unstable wife Emma are involved too, along with unwell Ashley Thomas and his loyal wife Laurel.

Emmerdale aren't revealing much else at the moment – perhaps not a surprise after the praise they've received this week for keeping Holly's death under wraps.

What we do know is that this all relates to "an unmissable week of groundbreaking episodes" due to air later this month.

Emmerdale's producer Iain MacLeod has previously teased: "There's a massive week coming up in October - from the 17th, to be precise. I've been talking a little bit about this every time I speak to anyone from the press, or indeed my family or anyone at all on the bus!

"It's unbelievably exciting. There's a couple of soap firsts in it, in terms of the stories we are telling and the way it is being shot.

"I could actually talk all day about that big week but, on my word, it's going to be amazing."

Just my luck, the one character I'd want it to be (Vic Barton) isn't even in the trailer........... SHAME!!!! In that case then, if I had to put a bet on it, I'd go for Pierce or Rhona.

My only doubt about James would be because they have just killed off a Barton but he is going so it must be him

I`m hoping its Pierce who dies. He seems very controlling, and I`m sure he is only with Rhona to get revenge on Paddy.
But I don`t want Rhona and Paddy to get back together....that ship has sailed.

If it was leaked by the press though unfortunately there is nothing they can do about that. The spoilers leading up to that week also doesn't favour him but I guess we just have to wait and see.

Please that Pierce has to be one of them, he is such a bore. Its a petty James is going, either in death or just leaving. It was the fault of the writers not utilizing a perfect character. And as for that psycho Emma, she needs to die. But shes another mistake of the PTB. I believe that the production team really dropped the ball with characters that could have been really amazing. Instead of focusing on humdrum storylines. :wall: LOL
