We're just getting over the fallout from that incredibly shocking helicopter crash in Casualty and the BBC is already spoiling us with info about what's next.

One of the most interesting things in the trailer (apart from all the sadness and romances, and sad romances) is the appearance of ex-Emmerdale star Rik Makarem.

Makarem is playing new medic Sebastian Grayling, and although he believes he is good at his job, not everyone around him shares that opinion...

Here's photo.

Doesn't look too happy, does he?

Casualty has aired Rik Makarem's final scenes as Sebastian Grayling in tonight's episode (January 7), which saw the character transferred to a different hospital.

Rik, who was previously known in Soapland for his role as Emmerdale's Nikhil Sharma, joined the BBC medical drama towards the end of the last year as F1 doctor Seb.

Although it was thought he'd be sticking around for a while, Seb made his way out of the Holby hospital in tonight's visit as his shocking storyline with long-term character Dylan Keogh reached a conclusion.

Recent episodes have seen Seb concoct a rather malicious lie regarding his mentor Dylan, claiming that the medic tried to kiss him after the Christmas party.

Fans know full well that it was, in fact, the other way round – but Seb refused to back down, and instead ploughed ahead with making a formal complaint about Dylan.

With Dylan's career – and reputation – in tatters, his new friend Max Walker attempted to redeem him by getting Jez to trap Seb into making a confession.

However, when the pair's plan spectacularly backfired, it really did seem that it could be curtains for Dylan, until Seb had a much-needed change of heart about the allegations he was making.

After finally proving his medical skills in resus, the enormity of his lies hit home with Seb – and he decided to the right thing and retracted his statement.

This, of course, meant that Dylan was in the clear, but the same couldn't be said for Seb, who knew he no longer had a future at the hospital.

Remarkably, Dylan was keen not to bear a grudge with Seb and instead gave him a lifeline – offering him a transfer to a placement at the nearby St James's hospital.

Casualty has confirmed that it is the last we will be seeing of Seb for now, but given that his new job isn't far away, the door has been left wide open for a return.
