Wednesday

Friday

Monday
After an interview with Cooper, Mark arrives at the Canning house with an update. It turns out that the attack on Cooper occurred 15 minutes earlier than originally reported, making Gary a suspect again. Cooper's parents have also taken out a personal safety intervention order against him. This means Gary is not to contact or communicate with Cooper by any means.
The day gets worse when Cooper returns to school and makes it clear that he has no intention of leaving Xanthe alone. Gary soon finds out, but is unable to help Xanthe due to the intervention order. However, when he bumps into Cooper laughing with his mates about Xanthe, he can't resist warning him to stay away. Unfortunately, Mark has seen all and is forced to arrest Gary for threatening Cooper. Will Gary be sent back to prison?
Meanwhile, after learning from Amy that Ryan still has a copy of the hidden camera hotel footage, Terese vows to retrieve and destroy it. Amy begs her to wait, as there's a chance Cooper's attack on Xanthe may have been filmed and it could help prove her claim. Terese updates Tim Collins on the situation and he reminds her that both of their careers are on the line, so she needs to get rid of the footage regardless.
After retrieving the footage from Ryan and confirming Cooper's attack on Xanthe has been recorded, Terese realises she has no choice but to forward it to the police. Tim convinces her to instead isolate the clip, send it anonymously to the Cannings and delete the remaining data.
Elsewhere, when Xanthe's film receives a high mark from Elly, Piper can't help being suspicious. How did an unfinished film beat her and Ben's effort? Worried that she's being marked unfairly, Piper sneaks into the classroom and looks through Elly's assessment folder and is shocked to see how hard Elly has graded her compared to everyone else. She is busted by Elly, who defends her marking and threatens Piper with detention.
Also today, Paige is becoming increasingly convinced that she has a future with Jack. How will she take it when she realises Jack is simply playing bodyguard?
Tuesday
In the confessional, Jack is suspicious when he hears a man crying and then abruptly leave without revealing his identity. Jack continues his attempts to protect Paige, but he covers his concern by telling her that he's still worried about her upcoming boxing match.
Taking this as a sign he still loves her, Paige tells him that she's rethinking the fight. The news alarms Aaron, who's planning to sink money into the event. However, Tyler is more worried about the influence Jack holds over his friend and he urges Paige to face reality.
Later, Jack realises that Paige isn't the girl who Ari is targeting...
Meanwhile, Mark tells Gary that it's likely he'll be going back to jail. However, when Sheila discovers the USB with the incriminating footage of Xanthe and Cooper, it seems the family's luck has turned. Sheila assumes it will solve everything, so she's furious when Mark admits Gary is still in trouble. With no other suspects in the assault case, jail is still looming.
When Alison reveals that Cooper's mum Dr Knights has a serious temper, Ben begins to wonder whether she could have hit her son. Ben is certain his girlfriend will do the right thing and come forward, but when Alison realises he's still got feelings for Xanthe, she refuses to talk to the police.
Elsewhere, Mark asks Steph to move in with him permanently, but she's torn about what's best for Charlie. When Charlie begins acting up and an accident occurs at the motel, Steph assumes it's the Brennan brother influence. Unconvinced by his pleas of innocence, Steph makes him help clean up the mess - unaware it's been caused by Ari.
Wednesday
Jack is horrified after realising that the stalker is targeting Steph rather than Paige, but church law forbids him from speaking up.
Jack asks an older priest for permission to alert Steph and the police, but the priest is clear that Jack must stay quiet. This leaves Jack with a dilemma - will he break the vow he made to the church, or act to protect Steph?
Meanwhile, Steph admits to Sonya that she doesn't want to live with Mark and his brothers. Her attempt to let Mark down gently fails and she heads home to change for the footy, with no idea that the stalker is following her.
An argument between Mark and Steph sees Steph left alone in the house again and Jack is anxious to learn from Mark that Steph is alone. He's right to worry as the stalker is inside the house, waiting for the moment to punish Steph. Will Jack get to her in time?
Elsewhere, Ben encourages Karl to confront Maureen Knights and force her to admit to assaulting her son Cooper. Frustrated when Maureen denies it, Ben turns to Tyler for advice. Tyler knows the damage that can be done when a parent assaults a child and he warns Ben to tread gently, offering to try to help by talking to Cooper. Ben presses Cooper to speak up - to save himself as well as Gary Canning.
Thursday
Jack and Steph race after the mystery stalker, but he manages to get away without them catching a real look at him. Steph demands an explanation for what's going on, but to her and Mark's frustration, Jack is bound by the confidentiality of the confessional seal.
Determined to protect the woman he loves, Mark lays out all the recent events. Ellen Crabb agrees it's a compelling case, but she must deny his request to bug the confessional all the same, as they would never get the warrant.
Later, Mark slips into the confessional and plants an illegal bug - breaking all the rules in an effort to protect the woman he loves.
Meanwhile, as word spreads of the stalker and Jack's involvement, Paige is devastated to realise that this may be the cause of his recent interest in spending time with her. When she confronts him, he can't deny it.
Elsewhere, unhappily indebted to Paul over his alibi, Gary delivers a list of all the Lassiters guests who stayed in the hotel rooms with the hidden cameras. Paul goes to work drumming up outrage, and despite Terese's best efforts to put out the fire, word eventually gets back to her investors. Terese believes she has no choice but to fall on her sword, taking responsibility. Is it really the end for her career?
Also today, Piper is impressed when Elly helps Ned come up with a romantic gesture for Brad and Lauren. She decides to bury the hatchet and approaches Elly at school. Her timing couldn't be worse, as Elly has been battling an epic migraine that won't go away. In a moment of blind frustration, Elly snaps abusively at Piper, who's left stunned. What exactly did her school teacher just call her?
Friday
Piper gets her official mark for the film project and it confirms that she scored less than Ben on the same assignment. Brad is concerned about the sudden drop in marks, but Piper tries to explain that Elly has a grudge against her and is deliberately marking her down. Brad is slightly dubious, but when they talk to Elly and hear her hastily concocted side of the story, he starts to wonder if there might be something in what Piper is saying.
When Terese meets with Elly to discuss it, Elly delivers an implied threat that if Piper doesn't back off, then Elly will tell Mr Udagawa that Terese lied to cover up the hotel hidden camera scandal. In a tight spot, Terese tries to calm Piper down. Piper is left feeling completely unsupported and unsure of what to do, until Lauren encourages her to fight for what's fair. Piper calls Susan to make an official complaint against Elly.
Meanwhile, Madison is nervous for the first of her regular gigs at The Waterhole, especially when she loses her voice trying to stop an argument between Paul and Terese. Luckily her voice soon returns, but then a mix-up at the dry cleaners leaves her without a proper outfit. Everyone knows bad luck comes in threes… what will be next? As she steps on stage, the power goes out.
Elsewhere, Elly and Ned sleep together. Unbeknown to Elly, Ned runs into an old acquaintance, Bree. She hopes that Ned is not getting too close that girl he's with, since he knows how possessive Regan gets…

is xanthe attacked?
I think creepy Cooper tried to in the hotel room
Wonder if this Bree is the same character from the 90's?

Do you mean Breanna Timmins? I'd doubt they'd bring her back as an acquaintance of Ned's. Would they even know each other? I think they've just recycled the name.

You're probably right. I may have been thinking of another character. Who was the old character they mentioned who was Elly's best friend when she was originally in the show?
I think she was friends with stephs's sister Michelle.
"Brad is slightly dubious, but when they talk to Elly and hear her hastily concocted side of the story, he starts to wonder if there might be something in what Piper is saying. "
Glad Elly is getting caught out at last.

Im glad Elly is being found out for being horrible to Piper.I wonder why she is picking on her so much maybe she reminds her of herself when she was younger anyways she should know better as she is meant to be a teacher.
I know piper shouldn't have thrown the drink on her, but she should have been the bigger person and understood why. But she's just vindictive. Like making piper thinking she slept with Tyler, or being rude to her in, her own house.

All this makes me wonder about the writers' intentions for Elly? Is she supposed to be an out-and-out villain? Even if she's supposed to be just a bitchy character, her behaviour towards Piper is a bit full on.
Anyway, I'm not an Elly hater and I really dislike Piper at the moment, so I've got little sympathy for the latter I'm afraid.
I don't hate Elly, i dislike her. Tho she grew on me when she saved nell.

I dislike her too i'm trying to be open minded about her character but she isn't making it easy. Are we meant to be liking her? Well her behaviour the next few episodes is going to put me off her for awhile.

That's what I want to know too! Her character is really ill-defined at the moment and it's hard to know what to make of her. As a teacher, her behaviour towards Piper is beyond inappropriate and I can't think of a reason that would excuse it or at least make it more understandable. At the opposite end of the spectrum we've witnessed her grief over the miscarriage (although that lasted all of two episodes).
What confuses me the most is that it seems to me that Jodi Anasta often plays Elly's bitchiness quite tongue in cheek - as if it's not to be taken too seriously. Therefore, I sometimes find her quite amusing. I'm aware I'm very much in the minority though! :p

I find Elly a bit flakey really, she's very unprofessional most of the time, she is good with Xanthe to be fair but her behaviour towards Piper is out of order (especially what I see in the latest spoilers.)
Susan needs to take off her rose tinted spectacles for Elly & pull her up on it.
I feel very neutral towards her with no strong feelings either way. I don't mind characters being light hearted fun loving but as a teacher she should be more discreet at least her flaunting herself at men whether it be Mark, Tyler or Ned often in front of them and acting equally as immature as them at times doesn't feel right to me. I'm guessing she's a troubled character and we'll see more about her back story in time and why she is as she is.

So was Xanthe actually sexually assaulted or did he attempt to? I thought it was the latter and Xanthe got away but looking at these spoilers, it looks like the former?

I think he tried and she got away. If he had assaulted her she would have gone straight to the police as she would have evidence. Otherwise it's he said she said. And as we know there is video proof.
Re. Elly - I think she's a decent person with serious issues stemming from her break up. The thing with Piper is confusing. Will be interesting to see the reasoning behind that. Could be as simple as holding a grudge over their initial meeting. But that would be rather childish for a teacher.

I dislike Elly way more than Piper

I can see me getting that way now Piper's improved somewhat since she's given up chasing Tyler and Elly's behaviour will get even more annoying according to the spoilers.

But didn't it say something like he runs into Bree and she warns him that Regan will be jealous? So I guess Regan is the ex and Bree is her friend.
True. The article made it sound like the audience already knew this Regan. It was a bit weird how the character was introduced. What is also interesting is that Regan also sounds like both a girl's and boy's name. Could be a dude? It's about time they had a bisexual character.

Well there's Steph...
Never really thought of Steph as bisexual. I keep forgetting. I think its because she only had once off relationship with Belinda. I don't think we'll see her with another girl again.

Why did Coopers Parents take an Intervention Order out on Gary? when it's Cooper who attacked Xanthe who should have the Intervention Order Put on him
Why did Coopers Parents take an Intervention Order out on Gary? when it's Cooper who attacked Xanthe who should have the Intervention Order Put on him
Unfortunately that kind of thing happens a lot. Since it was Cooper's word against Xanthe, there wasn't much action the police could take against him. I also imagine that given what we now know about Cooper's mother, she took out the intervention order to take the heat for Cooper's head injury off herself.
I'm annoyed with the resolution of Xanthe's assault storyline! In the end it became all about Cooper's pain, and everyone (including Xanthe herself) falling over themselves to make him feel better.
Now I know what he did to Xanthe will be seen by many as a very mild sexual assault, but - bearing in mind this is Neighbours we're talking about where euphemisms and evasions are used for anything deemed remotely shocking - I think it's fair to say the storyline being played out here is equivalent to something much stronger in any other soap.
The reason it's annoyed me so much is that sexual assault is not taken seriously in reality and most victims get no justice, so to make the perpetrator in this case sympathetic is downright offensive and hugely dismissive of the trauma real victims go through. As we saw with Xanthe, in reality it's the victims who are often blamed, harassed and bullied and the perpetrators let off scott free (despite the fact it's been proved that only a minute proportion of sexual assault/rape accusations are false). There are no convenient videos to back up most victims' allegations...
Neighbours had a chance here to keep the storyline tightly focused on the effects of the assault on Xanthe and her family and their attempts to get justice, but chose in the end to make it all about poor little Cooper, his unhappiness, and everyone (including the victim) colluding in making sure he was punished with the most feeble slap on the wrist possible.
It was badly done.
(Also to add: the judge would take Cooper's background into account when handing down his sentence, so there was absolutely no need to have him be virtually absolved of any wrongdoing by Xanthe and everyone else involved.)

I agree I hated how it was handled, but it seems to be a common storyline in entertainment, a woman is hurt and has to forgive the male character for the male character to "grow" and be redeemed. How about just once the male character grows emotionally in prison?
Interesting side fact the percentage of false rapes reported to authorities are approx 3% (from the FBI stats), this is the same rate as other falsely reported crimes (theft or criminal damage for example) yet the media coverage is disproportionally higher making it seem like these are common cases. For every story you see reported about a rape claim and the reaction that the accuser is lying try to find a case where someone reported an item stolen, or vandalism and see how many people react that the accuser is lying.

Yes, it's very telling to consider the situation from that perspective.
I read a report from CPS here in the UK a while back analysing rape accusations and conviction rates. As you say, the percentage of false rape claims is very, very small. Also, the females who make false accusations tend to be vulnerable women with a history of being sexually abused, not the cold-hearted, malicious gold-diggers they're usually portrayed as in the media.

I think the Xanthe assault and Cooper's own abuse story line's would of been better being done separately or at least different times or not have Cooper be both things perpetrator and victim here merging them in to one story over less than a week took something away from them both especially Xanthe's. Xanthe still should of got & wanted some justice and the assault on her being suddenly brushed aside as a consequence of Copper's abuse felt a bit off to me.
Also having Tyler a child abuse victim himself reach out to help another was really good to see and they were moving scenes but again rushing it over one episode was a shame I would of liked that explored a bit more.

I was furious from the outset when the first thing Elly said to Xanthe was "what did you do to make him so mad?" because when a guy gets angry it's always something the girl did, it couldn't possibly be that the guy is an abusive jerk.
