An Actor/Actress Appearing In More Than One Soap...

It's becoming quite common, dont you think? :) There's loads I can mention... but just a few include:

- Sherrie Hewson... Played Maureen Holdsworth in Coronation St. Then went on to play Virginia in Crossroads, and is now currently playing Lesley (Simon's mum) in Emmerdale.

- Ben Hull... Played Lewis Richardson in Hollyoaks. Then went on to play a part in Brookside as Doctor Garry Parr. And he is now currently playing someone in Family Affairs.

- Emily Symons... Played Marilyn Fisher in Home & Away, and now she's currently playing Louise Appleton in Emmerdale.

- Gabrielle Glastier... Played posh wife Patricia Farnham in Brookside, and has now gone on to currently play someone called Trish in Family Affairs.

...and I could go on! The list is practically endless! :)

I think its weirder when they play the same character.

Kristian Ealey, best known for playing cheeky scouser Matt Musgrove in both Brookside and Hollyoaks, has died aged just 38.

The actor joined Brookside in 1998 before his character switched to Hollyoaks in 2000.

He left that soap in 2004 after his character was caught by police for taking part in a counterfeit money scandal, but reprised the role in spin-off show Hollyoaks: After Hours.


Suzanne Collins, who performed alongside Ealey in Brookside as Nikki Shadwick, told the Liverpool Echo: "He was brilliant to work with. He was loads of fun.

"He was a fantastic actor, but you should have heard him sing. Musically he was so good, he loved to sing and play the guitar.

"It's terrible, terrible news. He lived for his young son Jakey. I'm so shocked and gutted."

Twitter tributes also came from co-stars including Gemma Atkinson and Barbara Drennan.

Ealey was known for his music career as well, having been an original member of the band Tramp Attack, formed in 2001, alongside Dave McCabe (later The Zutons' frontman) and The Bandits founder Tony Dunn.


Another of Ealey's roles was as Ringo Starr in the 2000 biopic In His Life: The John Lennon Story.

Liverpool-born musician Pete Wylie took to Twitter to say: "So very sad to hear the shocking news about Kris Ealey. Always a power for good, whether music or mood. Gonna be missed big time. Love to all those left behind. xxx"
