Hold onto your hats - Toyah Battersby is making her comeback to Coronation Street.
Yep, Leanne's long departed sister will be returning to the soap this December for the first time in 13 years.
Toyah has been mentioned regularly on the soap since leaving Weatherfield in February 2003, but had yet to make a comeback - until now that is.
She left the cobbles after discovering that her college lecturer boyfriend had got her friend Maria pregnant... so we'd watch out there, Maria.
Actress Georgia Taylor will be returning to the role and will begin filming next month, and with Leanne pregnant with Steve McDonald's baby, the sisters certainly have a lot of catching up to do.
But viewers will have to wait and see what exactly brings 'Our Toyah' back to the cobbles...
"I am thrilled to be re-joining my old friends on the cobbles and hugely excited to be given the opportunity to explore the character of Toyah 13 years on," said Georgia.
"Coronation Street has always had a place in my heart and I'm delighted to be working again with my good friend Jane Danson and bringing the Battersby sisters back together.
"The script writers and producers have come up with some fantastic, clever, and detailed story-lines that have inspired me and I feel excited to get started!"
Producer Kate Oates said: "I am delighted that Georgia Taylor has agreed to return to the role of Toyah. She is a talented actress who has had great success since leaving the show in 2003.
"Family relationships are the lifeblood of soap operas and I am excited to explore the drama that Toyah will bring with her to the cobbles. She has led an interesting life away from Weatherfield and she has secrets she has kept even from Leanne.
"Her arrival this Christmas looks set to put the cat amongst the Coronation Street pigeons."
But will Leanne be glad to see the return of her sister? Well, Christmas is a time for family after all...

Toyah in Corrie
"I am thrilled to be re-joining my old friends on the cobbles and hugely excited to be given the opportunity to explore the character of Toyah 13 years on," said Georgia.
"Coronation Street has always had a place in my heart and I'm delighted to be working again with my good friend Jane Danson and bringing the Battersby sisters back together.

So this is happening.
We were already pretty excited about the upcoming returns of Peter Barlow, Adam Barlow, Daniel Osborne and Brian Packham, but today's news that Toyah Battersby will be joining the Weatherfield comeback craze is the icing on the cake.
Last seen in 2003, Toyah is one of Corrie's most fondly-remembered characters and was always right at the top of our wishlist for a big return. Here's our rundown of eight reasons why we can't wait to see her back.
1. She's old school Corrie
Toyah was first introduced to the cobbles in 1997 as part of a huge Corrie shake-up led by no-nonsense producer Brian Park. She joined as part of the four-strong Battersby clan, who made an immediate impact as Weatherfield's family from hell, giving the show a much-needed shake-up.
Fans were furious at first, with protests for the rowdy newcomers to be axed. And it wasn't just a storm in a teacup, either – with no Twitter back then, protests had to be loud to get attention.
Slowly but surely, though, viewers warmed to the Battersbys, with audiences growing to like the more mellow Toyah in particular.
Now seen as a key part of a memorable Corrie era, Toyah is once again being introduced during a major period of change for the show, with new boss Kate Oates aiming to take the soap back to its best. We don't think viewers will be blasting Our Toyah's first scenes this time...
2. Leanne needs someone to talk to
Toyah couldn't be returning at a better time for poor Leanne, who's currently pregnant with Steve McDonald's baby after a one-night stand. Sure, Leanne bravely confided in her boyfriend Nick Tilsley about the whole sorry mess, but he's hardly able to offer much in the way of impartial advice, is he?
Enter Toyah, who's sure to have a wise word or two for her stepsister. And they could even swap notes on the McDonald brothers. Do you remember how Toyah slept with Steve's twin brother Andy during her first stint on the cobbles?
3. She'll finally get to meet Eva the Diva
With Toyah gone, Leanne's main source of support in Weatherfield in the past few years has been her feisty half-sister Eva. In fairness, Eva is usually pretty good at getting Leanne through a crisis – when she's not too busy with her own troubles and the occasional diva outburst, that is.
But what will Toyah make of Eva and her dramas? Let's be honest, after growing up with the likes of Les and Janice, dealing with Eva should be a doddle. But there's still plenty of scope for the writers to explore some classic soapy tension between the pair – could Toyah put Eva's nose out of joint?
4. She has beef with Maria
When Toyah left the street, it's fair to say that Maria wasn't in her good books. Toyah's boyfriend John Arnley, a university tutor, had an affair with Maria and got her pregnant. Understandably miffed, Toyah decided to leave the Street for good once the truth about their betrayal was exposed.
13 years later, we're sure that all's forgiven and forgotten, right? Well, this storyline was actually one of the first things Corrie mentioned on their Toyah press release today, so it seems not. (And hats off to Corrie's continuity department for remembering.)
Whatever happens, we're sure Toyah will have something to say once it's revealed that Maria hasn't learned from her mistakes and has recently slept with unavailable Aidan. Although we have to say, we do feel a bit sorry for Maria and hope Toyah isn't too hard on her. Hasn't she got enough on her plate with crazy Caz at the moment?
5. She has connections to some Corrie classic characters
It seems like everyone is returning to Corrie right now, but could producer Kate Oates have some more shock comebacks up her sleeve?
We haven't heard any whispers that there are more to come, but the potential is definitely there if the writing room are having a slow day for ideas. Bringing back Janice and Les, even for a guest appearance, would make for a ratings-winning Battersby reunion (without the viewer outrage they sparked last time).
And what about Toyah's childhood sweetheart Spider – could he return from Peru to pay her a visit? Come on, Kate Oates, it's time to get on the phone to actor Martin Hancock if you haven't already...
6. She has a history of gritty storylines
Corrie's writers certainly put Toyah through the mill during her first stint on the Street. She was abducted, there was an underage sex plot (slightly less run-of-the-mill back in 1998), she went all-eco-warrior with Spider and she was also raped in one of Corrie's most controversial stories ever.
In truth, we're hoping it won't all be doom and gloom for Toyah, but it's clear that Georgia Taylor is more than equipped to take on a big headline-grabbing story.
And we don't think Georgia would have returned just for the pay cheque, either. In her announcement today, she's already revealed that it was the promise of big storylines that won her back. Of course, she was keeping tight-lipped for now, but watch this space for more gossip as we have it.
7. We'll finally be really excited about Corrie at Christmas
As much as we love Corrie, it's EastEnders that hogs the limelight at Christmas by airing big reveals, festive fallouts and the occasional murder. Corrie's Christmas can be dramatic too, but the show tends to hold back on its biggest treats until National Television Awards week in January.
But not any more! Corrie have confirmed that Toyah's return will air at Christmas, so the Yuletide dramas for the Mitchells and the Carters finally have a rival.
And let's not forget that Kate Oates previously hinted that a big development in Leanne and Steve's baby secret could air at Christmas this year. Could Toyah find herself thrown right into the centre of the drama? We hope so...
8. Leanne is stuck in Weatherfield now
Leanne is one of our favourite Corrie characters, so we hate it whenever she gets all huffy over some problem or other and threatens to move to Liverpool to be with Toyah (at least once every six months).
The prospect of a Leanne-less Corrie always frightens us, but now she doesn't have a sister in a nearby city to rely on for a speedy move, she's stuck in Weatherfield forever – hurrah!

i predict a dalliance for her with peter or nick

I wonder is Peter and Toyah's returns connected
That will annoy Leanne so i expect that is a very good guess
Coronation Street’s Georgia Taylor – Toyah’s been cheating on her husband!
It’s not just Father Christmas showing up on Coronation Street this Christmas as Toyah Battersby makes a shock return to the cobbles.
She surprises her sister Leanne when she suddenly shows up on Christmas day, sending her sister’s festive plans into chaos.
And it soon becomes apparent that Toyah’s brought sack loads of drama with her as she admits to Leanne that her marriage is over and she’s been having an affair.
Later, Toyah calls at Nick Tilsley’s flat but she’s taken aback to find her husband Toby there. Suggesting they need to talk, Leanne makes herself scarce.
Toby begs Toyah to give their marriage another chance and try for a baby again, but Toyah’s adamant it’s over between them.
Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah, says her alter ego is in desperate need of her sister’s help.
She said: “Toyah’s been having a tough time with her husband. There’s a sense that she’s trying to pretend that everything is ok but when she has a huge argument with her husband on Christmas morning, she just ups and leaves.
“It’s like putting a sticking plaster over it and she thinks, ‘Oh if I’m with my sister and with Simon we’ll all have a jolly time’.
“I think she’s reached a real crossroads and she just wants that support from her sister. Also, there are other people on the street like Roy who she’s also very close to.
“She’s found herself back there and it will be interesting to see if she takes a step back or if she tries to embrace this with a new head on.”
Talking about how she feels to be back on the cobbles, Georgia added: “It’s fantastic.
“There’s a lot to take in, we’re in a brand spanking new studio so a lot of familiar faces and a lot of new faces as well. I’m just trying to get to grips with anything really – Jane’s been fantastic.”
See Toyah’s shock return to the cobbles on Christmas day.

I wonder is Peter and Toyah's returns connected
I said that in another post!!!!!

Coronation Street’s Georgia Taylor – There’s going to be friction between Toyah and Eva!
Leanne Battersby is going to have a major headache this Christmas as she juggles all the drama in her life.
Not only is the Coronation Street resident hiding the fact she’s having Steve McDonald’s baby, she’s also juggling a couple of male egos, Nick Tilsley and Peter Barlow.
To make matters even worse her sister Toyah is going to turn up on Christmas day, and here Georgia Taylor, who plays her, says it won’t be long before there’s tension between Leanne’s sisters.
Why does Toyah decide to come back to Weatherfield?
Toyah’s been having a tough time with her husband. There’s a sense that she’s trying to pretend that everything is ok but when she has a huge argument with her husband on Christmas morning, she just ups and leaves. It’s like putting a sticking plaster over it and she thinks, ‘Oh if I’m with my sister and with Simon we’ll all have a jolly time’.
Why does she think returning to the Street will help?
I think she’s reached a real crossroads and she just wants that support from her sister. Also, there are other people on the street like Roy who she’s also very close to. She’s found herself back there and it will be interesting to see if she takes a step back or if she tries to embrace this with a new head on.
Has Toyah been completely honest with Leanne about her reasons for returning?
Well, Toyah has other secrets to do with her husband and marriage that come out in time.
Toyah’s husband Toby turns up, can you tell us what happens there?
Toyah is shocked to find her husband Toby at Nick’s flat. He begs Toyah to give their marriage another go but Toyah sticks to her guns and tells him it’s over. There are things that have happened in her relationship with her husband which impact on the woman she’s become and I’m excited to explore that.
What happens next?
Leanne doesn’t feel well so Toyah and Nick take her to hospital.
Does Toyah hold a grudge against Maria for what happened in the past?
For Toyah, she’s marked her card and she’s not forgotten. For me, these are the things that are really fun to play, these are the things that give a nod to the past and keep me grounded in something. So no, she won’t let that go.
What’s she doing for work?
She’s a counselor which I think makes a lot of sense because of everything she went through with the rape storyline that she’d do something that’s about caring and nurturing.
How will Toyah react to Leanne’s other sister, Eva?
Toyah and Eva are polar opposites. Whereas Leanne is quite businesswoman-like in her smart clothes, Toyah is very boho which is completely different to Eva. They have nothing in common apart from Leanne and Toyah is not used to sharing Leanne with another sister so this will cause friction from the beginning.
How does it feel to be back?
It’s fantastic. There’s a lot to take in, we’re in a brand spanking new studio so a lot of familiar faces and a lot of new faces as well. I’m just trying to get to grips with anything really – Jane’s been fantastic.
Toyah close to Roy? Surely Toyah had left long before Roy arrived.

I don't think I was watching when Toyah worked in Roy's cafe. Since they were close, I'm guessing she'll replace Carla (who replaced Becky) as his confidante.

I didn't enjoy her return and I don't think her and Peter work as a couple but maybe this will change as early yet
She looks really rough. Seems to have aged and looks more like Leannes older sister. No chemistry at all with Peter.

Coronation Street spoilers: Toyah Battersby has a face like thunder as she comes face to face with Peter Barlow’s ‘new woman’ Chloe
Coronation Street’s Toyah Battersby will come face-to-face with Peter Barlow’s “new woman” Chloe on tense new scenes.
Toyah – who is played by actress Georgia Taylor – had a face like thunder as she barged her way into Chloe’s home during a surprise visit alongside her sister Leanne.
Stalker Chloe has been source of grief for Toyah and Peter in recent weeks after making false allegations about Peter in which she claimed they had been having an affair.
It seems Toyah decides to confront Chloe once and for all in order to get to the bottom of the vicious claims.
Since Toyah returned to the cobbles on Christmas day she has been surrounded with drama and heartbreak.
She’s made false allegations about Peter in which she claimed they had been having an affair
Georgia, 36, first appeared on Corrie as a teen in 1997 and left in 2003.
Before reprising the role 13 years later, she told Woman magazine that she felt “proud” she didn’t end up in rehab.
She said: “I feel proud of myself that I didn’t fall apart and end up in rehab.
“There was a huge amount of interest in the Battersbys and it was crazy at times, but I guess I was always just grateful to be working.”

Coronation Street's Toyah Battersby will make a shock move next week when she goes ahead with her IVF treatment without her partner Peter Barlow's knowledge.
Viewers know that Toyah (Georgia Taylor) is desperate to have a baby with Peter, despite the fact that the timing couldn't be worse, as he is arrested on suspicion of assaulting his stalker Chloe this week.
Chloe's allegations will also put Peter in the frame for attacking his dad Ken, and with so much going on, you can see why he may have second thoughts about pursuing their pregnancy plans at the moment.
Peter shares his concerns with Toyah – suggesting that they put the IVF on hold until he's cleared his name over Ken's attack – and to his surprise, she seemingly takes the news quite well.
Although it's clear she's upset, Toyah promises to phone the clinic and delay her appointment until they know what's happening. However, a shock scene later on will see Toyah tell Leanne that she went ahead with it after all.
Toyah admits to her sister that she went behind Peter's back and had the embryos implanted as planned, but could she end up with a secret pregnancy? And what will it mean for her and Peter's future if she does?

Coronation Street's Toyah Battersby is set to face shocking kidnapping scenes following her on-screen absence.
The character has been on a two-month break from the soap, and popped back on screens last Friday (May 19) alongside her boyfriend Spider Nugent as they attended Craig's surprise birthday party at the Bistro.
However, new filming pictures from the soap suggest Toyah is about to suffer a horrific ordeal as she returns to the fold, with the character seen bound and gagged on the show's set.
Toyah also has a bruised face as she is imprisoned in the back of a white van, with screams heard and frequent banging as she tries to escape during the scenes.
The storyline is set to air in a few weeks' time, as viewers wait to find out what is actually happening.
Toyah's recent storylines have focused on the death of husband Imran last year in a fateful car crash, as well as its aftermath.
Speaking last year about her hopes for the future of her character, star Georgia Taylor said she would love to see Toyah adopt a child someday, explaining: "I think it's definitely an option for her. I love that side of her.
"The argument against that, I guess, is that I've always said we have a responsibility in reflecting all aspects of society, to show a childless woman and to show that a childless woman can be happy, that's something I feel quite strongly about myself.
"So it might be that she finds fulfilment and joy in something else. However, having said that, she is naturally very maternal and caring so I understand why her fostering a child or adopting a child seems like the obvious fit."

Coronation Street's Toyah Battersby is forced to relive her past trauma as part of a hard-hitting upcoming storyline.
In 2001, Toyah was raped, badly beaten and left for dead by an unknown attacker, who was later revealed to be her friend Phil Simmonds.
After months of trauma, including a period where Toyah developed agoraphobia, the ordeal concluded with Phil pleading guilty to the assault at trial. Toyah left Weatherfield the following year and did not return for over a decade.
According to The Sun, viewers will learn that Toyah became pregnant following the attack, and the baby was stillborn. Facing further trauma in addition to what she had already experienced, Toyah buried the baby in a park.
After finding out the land is set to be dug up, Toyah will worry that what happened will be discovered, more than two decades after the horrific event.
Digital Spy has reached out to ITV seeking comment about the storyline reports.
The original Coronation Street story caused controversy in 2001 when it aired.
Defending the storyline decision at the time, Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah, said: "The main focus of the storyline is the psychological effect that the attack has on Toyah.
"There are many women out there who have been raped or sexually assaulted and we owe it to them to make sure that the storyline is handled sensitively and accurately.
"It's obviously a very sensitive subject, and as an actress I can only hope I have done the storyline justice."
The storyline was also commended by St Mary's Sexual Assault Centre in Manchester, which worked closely with the programme ahead of its broadcast.
"The writers and the actors were very willing to learn and very anxious to get it right," said the centre's co-founder and clinical director Dr Raine Roberts.
Last year, the storyline was revisited as Toyah offered support and guidance to Amy Barlow, who was also struggling after her friend Aaron Sandford raped her.
Toyah explained that she understood what Amy was going through, and recommended she spoke to a counsellor.
