Hello, I Must Be Going

Doctor Elle Gardner starts at the Emergency Department and she's about to get a baptism of fire.

Elle is a chaotic mum who's been out of the game for a few years. She struggles initially, but the team welcome her brilliant instinct. But is her friendship with Hanssen slightly odd?

Meanwhile, Zoe wakes up next to Max on cloud nine and reveals she has been offered a job in America. Max agrees to go with her and she couldn't be happier. But Robyn warns Max that he'll just get his heart broken and she makes Zoe promise never to hurt him again.

Elsewhere, Iain keeps getting texts from Rita and Jez starts ribbing him about it. Is Iain starting to realise maybe he's in too deep?

Also this week, David is still struggling to fit in and Dylan warns him he needs to pull his socks up, while Shelle comes into the Emergency Department looking for Vince, but ends up taking Elle and Zoe hostage.

Sunetra Sarker has thanked Casualty fans after her surprise exit from the show.

Last night's (May 7) episode saw Sarker's character Zoe head abroad for a new job, leaving her on-off love interest Max devastated.

While there had been rumours that she might leave, the show hadn't announced her exit beforehand.

Now Sarker has taken to Twitter to reflect on her exit: "So that's it guys. Goodbye from Zoe - it's been a privilege and a pleasure. Thanks to all the crew, cast and wonderful fans. Over & out."

"We miss you. We love you," wrote executive producer Oliver Kent in response to her tweet.

And if you're struggling to get over the loss of Zoe from the show, the BBC has released a montage of the character's best bits. Fair warning though, you might need tissues.

Sarker will be doing a Twitter Q&A this morning (May 8) at 10.30am for any burning questions you may have.
