Coming up on Coronation Street, another new couple could be about to get together as sleazy Pat Phelan makes his move on Eileen Grimshaw.

Phelan (Connor McIntyre) steps up his pursuit of Eileen after she splits from Michael Rodwell next week.

Viewers will see Eileen (Sue Cleaver) dump Michael after she grows infuriated by his apparent 'paranoia' that Phelan is trying to steal her away. However, Eileen is later left stunned when Phelan makes it clear to her that Michael was right all along!

Eileen clearly enjoys Phelan's flattery - so much so that she even refuses to listen when Anna Windass warns that the nasty builder once blackmailed her into having sex with him.

With Eileen fooled when Phelan claims that he actually had a brief affair with Anna, she continues to enjoy the villain's company and they eventually kiss. It's bound to end in tears, but how long will it take Anna to see his true colours?

Monday 14th March 1930

Phelan calls in the cab office and apologises to Eileen if he came on too strong last week. Enjoying the flattery, Eileen suggests lunch in the Bistro. When Anna spots Eileen and Phelan enjoying the intimate lunch, she's horrified. Izzy urges her to warn Eileen about what he's capable of.

Eileen takes Pat back to Number 11 and her phone rings while she makes coffee. Seeing the caller is Anna, Pat kills the call. Pat then confides in Eileen that if they're to have any chance of a successful relationship, then there's something he needs to tell her about Anna...

Meanwhile, when Gemma rolls in late and shows more interest in gossiping than work, Kylie puts pressure on David to fire her. As Gemma makes out to Rita that she's in contact with Callum, Rita urges her to go to the police. David's had enough and sacks Gemma, telling her that she's not cut out for hairdressing. How will Gemma react when she discovers that it was Kylie's idea to get rid of her?

Elsewhere, Freddie calls in the salon and asks Kylie if she'll join him for a drink by way of thanks for her help. Kylie is sympathetic as Freddie reflects that life will never be the same without his beloved Sadie.

Also, Rana lets herself into Number 6. Finding Zeedan alone, she flirts with him and he invites her for dinner. As Rana and Zeedan kiss, Rana voices her concern at Alya's reaction to their relationship but Zeedan assures her that it'll be fine. But as Rana and Zeedan settle at their Bistro table, Rana is unnerved to spot her ex Javed.

Finally, Norris and Sally vie for Rita's vote but she refuses to be drawn. When Norris then calls in the factory and hands out chocolate bars in a shameless attempt to buy votes, Sally is furious.



Monday 2030

Phelan spins Eileen a false story, making out that Anna used to fancy him and they had a one night stand which he immediately regretted. Having swallowed Phelan's lies, Eileen thanks him for being honest with her.

Later, Anna calls at Number 11 and tells Eileen the truth about Phelan and how he forced her to have sex. Eileen is disbelieving. As Anna heads home deflated, Phelan approaches and gives her an evil smile, telling her that he got to Eileen first and he intends to stick around.

Meanwhile, when some youths give Chesney a hard time in the kebab shop, Gemma comes to his rescue. Chesney is grateful and promises to talk to Dev about giving her a job.

Elsewhere, to Rana's horror, Javed warns Zeedan that he's a mug if he is considering a relationship with her. Rana convinces Zeedan that Javed is still hurting after being dumped.

Also, Ken invites Audrey for a drink and is pleased when she accepts. But when Audrey insists they join Kylie and Freddie in the Rovers, he's put out.

Finally, a clearly depressed Michael pours his heart out to Gail, Aidan gives Eva short shrift when she raises the subject of Marta, while Norris confesses to Rita how much he misses Emily and how the council election is just a distraction.


Wednesday

Sarah admits to Kylie that she hasn't felt the baby move all day and she's scared that she's lost him. Kylie insists they head straight to the hospital.

When the midwife examines Sarah, will they be able to locate the baby's heartbeat?

Meanwhile, Phelan calls in the café and suggests to Anna that they should bury the hatchet and move on. Disgusted, Anna confides in Izzy about how Phelan fed Eileen a pack of lies, making out they had an affair and painting himself as the victim. Izzy is appalled and calls in the cab office, imploring Eileen to heed Anna's warning about Phelan.

Despite Izzy's intervention, Eileen remains unconvinced and she's delighted when Phelan finds her in The Rovers and offers to buy her a drink. Eileen later invites Phelan back to Number 11 where they kiss passionately.

Elsewhere, with the voting in full swing, Sally drags Tim out for a final day's canvassing.

Also today, Dev interviews Gemma. At Chesney's suggestion, she panders to his ego and manages to get the job. David is taken aback to see Gemma working in the kebab shop and warns Chesney that he's making a big mistake.

Finally, Aidan calls at the O'Driscolls' to talk business with Richie but clocks Julia behaving suspiciously and notices that one of the bedroom doors is bolted from the outside, while Rana announces to the Nazirs that she and Zeedan are now a couple.


Friday 1930

Aidan implores Eva and Billy to wait until the O'Driscolls have paid their invoice before going in all guns blazing to save Marta. However, as Billy and Eva stake out the O'Driscolls' house, they're determined to rescue Marta. As Richie and Julia head off in the car, they break in.

The O'Driscolls call in the factory and increase their existing order, much to Johnny's delight. Aidan reminds them about the outstanding invoice and Richie assures him the money has been transferred. Explaining the exhibition they were going to has been cancelled, they head home. Aidan tries desperately to get hold of Eva to warn her, but with no success.

Finding a terrified Marta, Billy and Eva implore her to come with them to safety. But with the O'Driscolls returning, are they too late?

Meanwhile, Jason is taken aback to discover that Phelan stayed the night with Eileen. Phelan feeds Jason the same set of lies about Anna, making out they had an affair and that's why she is bitter. When Kevin offers Jason some building work at the garage but makes it clear that Phelan isn't welcome on the premises, Jason wonders if it's because of Anna's affair with Phelan. This leads Kevin to confront Anna about Phelan, urging her to tell the truth about what happened between them.

Elsewhere, when Kylie finds one of Sadie's scarves in the salon lost property box, she tells David she'll return it to Freddie after the funeral. Kylie calls at Freddie's house and is shocked to see him through the window, slumped over a bottle of whisky and a bottle of pills.

Also, as Sally and Tim excitedly set off for the election results at the town hall, Norris is hurt to realise that Rita voted for Sally. Will Sally return jubilant?


Friday 2030

Spotting the break-in, the O'Driscolls enter their house with trepidation. They're furious to find Billy and Eva there, about to make their escape with Marta. Billy threatens to call the police and have the O'Driscolls arrested on kidnap charges, but Richie grabs the phone and shoves Eva up against a wall.

Aidan suddenly arrives and comes to Eva's rescue by punching Richie. Desperate to save his own skin, Richie suggests they leave the police out of it and offers to pay for Marta's return to Poland. With his business under threat, will Aidan be bought?

Meanwhile, Anna finally reveals the awful truth about her ordeal with Phelan to a horrified Kevin. Soon afterwards, with their relationship now official, Phelan and Eileen walk arm-in-arm past Kevin and Anna in the street. Phelan suggests they should have dinner sometime and Kevin seethes. As Anna thanks Kevin for being so understanding, Kevin hugs her tenderly and suggests they start afresh. Will Anna agree?

Elsewhere, Kylie approaches Freddie in a panic and checks for a pulse. Freddie stirs and explains that he had some friends over for a drink to give Sadie a proper send off. Kylie is overcome with relief but her heart goes out to Freddie as he mourns his wife.

Also, after Eileen breaks the news that she and Phelan are now an item,, Michael drowns his sorrows and pours his heart out to Gail about his split with Eileen. Gail tries to contain her glee.
