Home and Away's Irene Roberts will get ​a shock when a mystery woman arrives on her doorstop claiming she is her long-lost daughter.

Scenes yet to be aired in the UK will see a distraught Irene reveal that she fell pregnant when she was a teenager after being sexually assaulted.

Irene was then forced to give up the baby without even knowing if she gave birth to a boy or a girl.

Upcoming scenes will see Irene (Lynne McGranger) confide in returnee Morag about her secret baby, revealing that she wants to track them down.

However, before Irene has even put her plan into motion, a mystery woman will knock at her door, TV Week reports.

Claire, played by Anita Hegh​, claims to the baby that Irene gave up all those years ago.

Irene (Lynne McGranger) will get a shock in future episodes when the mystery woman arrives on her doorstep, claiming to be the long-lost daughter she was forced to give up as a teen.


Irene is naturally overjoyed to be given an opportunity to get to know Claire (Anita Hegh​), but is met by hesitance from her young lodger Olivia, who doesn't believe that the newcomer is the real deal.

Sadly, it looks like Oliva's suspicions might be justified as Claire wastes no time in revealing that she is broke, prompting a kind-hearted Irene to offer to pay for her flights.

Having listened to Olivia's suspicions about Claire, Roo decides to take matters into her own hands and question her. However, when Claire starts to slip up during a conversation about her past, Roo fears for Irene and decides to uncover the woman's true identity.

Roo immediately takes her suspicions to lawyer Morag, who subsequently agrees to investigate Claire, but what will they find out? And what impact will it have on Irene?
