View Full Version : Emmerdale Spoilers Autumn 2016
Emmerdale's new producer Iain MacLeod has told fans they can expect a "special week of episodes" this Autumn.
The soap will air a thriller-style storyline as part of the 'unique' series of episodes later this year, according to STV.
"We've got some quite exciting plans for the autumn in terms of doing something a little bit different...
He added: "...a special week of episodes that will be kind of spectacular, but in a way I don't think we've seen in a soap before. I can't say much more than that."
MacLeod went on to say: "We've seen a lot of disaster movies; what I've got in mind is more akin to a thriller or an action movie.
"We have seen a lot of incredible stunts. I think this time my intention will be to approach it from a slightly different angle no less spectacular."
Meanwhile, MacLeod recently announced that Ashley and Laurel are planning to recommit themselves to one another by remarrying.
Emmerdale airs on ITV.

Emmerdale is to air a ‘spectacular’ week of stunts and drama just a year after a helicopter crashed into the village hall, killing off two characters.
Producer Iain MacLeod has outlined plans for a series of explosive storylines that will change the village forever and has promised fans that they will see a series of events that is new to the soap format.
Speaking to STV, he said: ‘We’ve got some quite exciting plans for the autumn in terms of doing something a little bit different – a special week of episodes that will be kind of spectacular, but in a way I don’t think we’ve seen in a soap before. I can’t say much more than that.’
He added: ‘We’ve seen a lot of disaster movies; what I’ve got in mind is more akin to a thriller or an action movie. We have seen a lot of incredible stunts. I think this time my intention will be to approach it from a slightly different angle no less spectacular.’
With stunts and action involved, it is more than likely that viewers may see characters killed off. However, cards are being kept very close to MacLeod’s chest on which storylines and characters will be involved in the week, which will air during the autumn.
While comparisons will be drawn to the ‘Summer of Fate’ which rocked Emmerdale last year, MacLeod’s promise that it will be different from a ‘disaster’ storyline implies that the central aspect will not be one catastrophic event but will instead show several storylines have action related twists.

I`m wondering if this has something to do with Pearce, Tess`s husband?
Maybe he`s after revenge when Tess commits suicide

If that's what Tess did she chose a spectacular way to do it. I mean she had to factor in Kirin getting drunk and behind the wheel of a car, him happening to come down the road after she had got out of the car to look at her phone a bit and wander aimlessly. Then she had to literally launch herself right at the specific moment onto the bonnet of the car. That is some planning. (Joking - but it's always fun when a spoiler doesn't come to fruition)

This wasn't a spoiler but a suggestion and should read "suicide?" It was a suggestion based on what was known before the episode aired. The original spoiler was correct in that Paddy goes to Tess's funeral next week. There was never any prior spoiler mention of Kirin and his car being involved with this Tess storyline.
Kirin just randomly happened to have been madly driving down Hotton Road as Tess walked into it whilst upset and distracted after her phone call to Rhona. The crash scene seems rather random and forced now and just used to join two storylines together (the soap exits of Tess and Kirin).
BTW, when Kirin sped out of the village, he narrowly missed Brenda, then drove to the top of Main Street and turned right into Robblesfield Road. This is a continuity error as he should have turned left here for Hotton Road and to drive pass Tess, but this is soapland and mere details...
Wrong thread .. not autumn 2016 yet :p

Emmerdale has dropped another exciting hint about its upcoming October stunt week, revealing that the huge storyline is likely to be filmed at Pinewood Studios.
The ITV soap memorably filmed at the iconic studios three years ago, using the special underwater stage to shoot action-packed scenes for The Woolpack flood.
Now the show's chiefs are planning to go all-out with some unmissable drama once again, as a special ITV 'Super Soap Week' in October will see Emmerdale and Coronation Street both airing explosive episodes.
Emmerdale's series producer Iain MacLeod revealed: "There's a massive week coming up in October - from the 17th, to be precise. I've been talking a little bit about this every time I speak to anyone from the press, or indeed my family or anyone at all on the bus!
"It's unbelievably exciting. There's a couple of soap firsts in it, in terms of the stories we are telling and the way it is being shot.
"The most I can really say is that we are in talks to go back to Pinewood to do some filming there, so that should give you some sense of the kind of dramatic scale we're talking about.
"I could actually talk all day about that big week but, on my word, it's going to be amazing."
MacLeod promised that the storyline will feature "all of the big hitters, or a lot of them, that you'd expect to be in the October week".
He added: "I can't say who. We have such an amazing cast that rest assured, whoever is going to be in it is going to be awesome. I want to tell you but I can't!"
ITV's soap boss John Whiston has also previously teased the storyline, promising that it can rival some of the most spectacular stunts in Emmerdale's history.
Whiston said this week: "It promises to be every bit as riveting as, say, the Woolpack flood or the helicopter dropping in on Pete and Debbie's wedding. I can't say any more - and there really was no clue in the word 'riveting'!"
In the meantime, Emmerdale is also airing a huge fire sequence next week as Rakesh Kotecha commits arson at Mill Cottage - leaving lives in jeopardy.

They dont need Pinewood Studios, they could film it in my shed for a tenner.

Finally the wait is over. Emmerdale has revealed the mystery casualty of its spectacular stunt week... and it was none other than James Barton. The rumours were true all along!
James had been on a list of 10 possible death victims, but the soap gods were feeling pretty kind on this occasion and only decided to kill one character off. So what's next for the nine lucky survivors?
Robert and Aaron
Emmerdale certainly left us on the edge of our seats by milking the possibility that Aaron might die. Were you fooled by those misleading shots showing Chas and Robert looking deeply upset at the mystery funeral? (We're not really sure why Robert was bothered about James.)
Anyhow, the good news for the Robron army is that they will be getting married early next year following Robert's proposal. Good job too, after Robert ran back into that lake to get the engagement ring back.
Speaking about the Robron wedding, Emmerdale boss Iain MacLeod revealed: "I have read it already, I can reveal, and it is really heartbreaking. It is big emotionally.
"In keeping with their characters, I don't think anybody is expecting dancing girls and showtunes. It's quite raw and honest, and it has got a healthy dose of Dingle craziness at the heart of it that threatens to derail things."
Could that be a Hollyoaks-style literal derailment if everyone starts taking the train after this week's road-related chaos? (Don't worry, Robron fans, we're joking.)
Emma
Emma appears to have got away with her dark crimes... for now. With James dead and Ashley struggling to remember what he saw on the road, there's really not much to link Emma to the pile-up. But could it be Emma's own guilty conscience that proves to be her undoing?
Emma panics next week when the police tell her that a witness saw James falling from the bridge, with someone else standing up there too. Hmm, does it really take a genius to figure out who that might have been?
Fearing they're already onto her, Emma also starts talking in her sleep, so let's hope she doesn't mention kidnaps, chickens, wedding dresses from the '80s or murderous rages with anyone in earshot or she might just give the game away.
There's better news when the Barton boys invite Emma to move back in with them, so could James's death ultimately bring her closer to her family, if she somehow manages to keep her guilt under wraps?
Ashley and Laurel
Things were looking pretty bleak for Ashley at the end of Friday night's episode, with the police warning that he could face official charges for driving without a licence and insurance – regardless of his dementia.
With fingers wrongly pointing in Ashley's direction over the crash itself too, how will he deal with the guilt of feeling responsible for James's death? Can Laurel carry on supporting him when he needs her more than ever? And crucially, could Ashley ultimately remember that he saw Emma at the crash site?
Gillian Kearney, who plays Emma, has warned: "Obviously, I think Emma's got her work cut out with Ashley, as his memory loss kind of comes and goes, as we've seen. So that's going to have to be broached and rectified in some way or other."
Pierce
Pierce may not have left Paddy to die at the crash site, but we've still got our eye on him. Could he become the next big Emmerdale villain as his romance with Rhona progresses further? Or could we actually end up feeling sorry for him?
Jonathan Wrather, who plays Pierce, is promising that his character's past will be exposed soon – even though he's keeping pretty tight-lipped about the details.
"You hear a little more about his backstory actually coming up soon, so I think there might be a little element of empathy towards him," Jonathan revealed at a recent Emmerdale press conference.
"His upbringing wasn't straightforward and there are elements to it that inform why he is the way he is. Perhaps with women specifically."
Rhona
Remember Rhona's painkiller addiction? Emmerdale will be revisiting this storyline as Rhona's past issues make it pretty tricky for her to make a hassle-free recovery from the injuries she sustained in the crash. It's not clear yet whether it'll be a full-blown relapse or just a scare, so watch this space.
Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona, revealed: "Obviously she has a history with painkillers, so her road to recovery might be a little tricky. That's something Pierce knows of but hasn't experienced, so that's quite tricky for him to understand."
Emulating Taylor Swift, Rhona has also told Paddy that they're never, ever, ever getting back together – but since the ex-couple will continue to work together at the vets, the troubles in the Paddy/Pierce/Rhona triangle seem far from over.
Paddy
With Rhona's painkiller issues being touched on again, what better opportunity for Paddy to remain a thorn in Pierce's side? As Pierce doesn't fully understand the problem or how to handle it, we'll see Paddy forced to step in and help out.
We're pretty sure that will make poor old Pierce secretly wish he'd left Paddy to die on the road after all! But don't worry, apparently these scenes will have a funnier tone than what we've seen for this trio recently.
Zoe Henry revealed: "The irritating fact for Pierce is that Paddy is so good at dealing with the fact that Rhona was on painkillers and he knows how she can get round it, so that's the sort of comedy stuff we've just shot. Paddy's very understanding and very knowledgeable and Pierce is sort of going: 'That's my job!' And he's annoyed he doesn't know how to do it."
Marlon
Marlon was very much the red herring of Emmerdale's stunt week, featuring as part of the creepy promo trailer and images, but not actually getting anywhere near the Road of Doom. Is he still on that campsite with Leo, oblivious to what happened?
It does sound like there's some juicier stuff coming up for Marlon, though, with much of the upcoming drama surrounding his relationship with Carly Hope.
Mark Charnock, who plays him, explained: "Marlon and Carly have got a complicated story. That's ongoing so I can't say too much really, but I'm really excited about it as a relationship.
"I think it could go all sorts of directions. I think the age difference is an interesting aspect that they've not fully gone into yet. So we'll see.
"I think there's quite a bit to come actually, especially with Marlon's kids and Carly's history with her baby who died. There's a dark past for her as well, so it's great to work on it."

I think the police would be interested. Plus the way she kept people away from James was suspicious.
Only thing I couldn't understand is how Aaron and Rhona recovered quickly enough to attend the funeral without a mark on them.

The trailer we have seen might have been part of the promotion ... have to wait and see whether all those severely injured characters do in fact attend the funeral
